I've used these for about 10 years & they are really used! I've never had a problem with any of them & often gave any extra I had to fellow musicians. I still have 3 of them that are at least 7 years old & they're fine. I'm ordering another soon just for another spare. I don't see how a musician could go wrong at the price & quality.

I would bet you're thinking the same thing I did: "Seven bucks for a twenty foot cable? Awesome!"Learn from the mistakes of others by passing this by.I bought this cable because my current cable is only 15 feet long, and I didn't want to shell out big bucks for some 'studio' cable. Besides, how do you screw up a cable? Buy this, and you will find out.Sure, it will pass a signal, but the tips will quickly wear. You know how your cable gets when it is almost dead? How you have to jiggle it around to make sound, usually caused by a long period of wear and tear? Well this cable didn't want to wait and only gave me about a month. This is with proper winding and storage! The WORST part of this cable is the NOISE. You CANNOT move if you are using this cable. When you slap this baby on the floor, the crap noise that comes from your amp is louder than the signal it passes. This is the reason I stopped using it. If you jump, bob, duck, thrash, walk, run, or even tap your toe while you play guitar, this cable will move and you will hear everything that is going on inside of it.UNACCEPTABLE NOISE!!

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Doing a sound check with a guitar and I opened and used a brand new M.F. cable. Hiss,Buzz Pop! I check the conection and ground... OK I plug in a new metal end cable and Bingo! You get whay you pay for. [*]quality may be absent. If you need one, buy three so you'll get one that works. At this rate you should have spent the money on ONE good quality cable. Live and Learn!

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

They used to have some of these cords at the church I used to play at. They are really testy. One minute they will be working fine and the next the will go out. Might be ok if your just playing at home once in a while, but if you will use them a lot I would get something else.

musians gear straight instrument cable

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

These cables are useless, the solder job is terrible, the cable ends are made of the worst material I have seen , when you try to resolder the cable the metal gets so soft it becomes usless. Musicians Friend is a great place to buy from, they will replace defective goods right away, it surprises me that they can sell these if all of them are of the same quality as the ones I recieved. The first one I opened would not work so they immediatly sent another one. I took the defective one apart and it was never even soldered on one end.
Bought 4 , 1 would not work when I first got them , called Musicians Friend and a replacement was sent right away , since then only 1 is still working but I think it is because I just opened it yesterday. I am not expecting it to last any longer than the others, save your money and time and buy 1 good cable, these are not, I repeat NOT worth the plastic bag they were shipped in.
Read above statement, nothing has changed.
If it doesn't work it is not worth having at any price.

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Terrible cables. Haven t worked right since I got them. Worked for awhile when I tightened them in a vise. They just didn't put enough thread on the tip of the connectors.

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

The only job of an instrument cable is to transmit the sound of your instrument CLEANLY to your amplifier. I guess that is too much to ask for with these. These are extremely noisy cables. You hear the crackling and popping every time you make the slightest movement. Save yourself some aggravation and just pass on these cables. Don't fall the the low price, it's a wast of money.

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

noisy when you move, has lots of microphonics. It would be better as an antenna for hamm radio. At least when I bought 2 of them, they were both capable of picking up cb noises and people talking on wireless phones blasting through my amps in an unpleasant fashion. Shocking.

Great Cable

By phil_bum-xRKYC

Comments about Musician's Gear 20-foot 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I've used these cables for years. Out of the couple of dozen that I have purchased, only one has ever had an issue; and it was easily repaired. I tend to take care of my stuff, and that may make a difference. I originally bought these because they were inexpensive, and I wouldn't feel bad if I accidentally left one behind. They have turned out to be a great investment.
