I own two. One carries a small PSR, the other holds my vintage Juno 60. For the PSR, I'm not worried. It's a cheap board and light as air. I'm more careful when carrying the Juno. It weighs about 30 pounds, and more importantly, it has old switches and sliders that can break. This bag won't protect them from something that knocks up against them or is laid on top. This bag is essentially like a denier nylon backpack material with a thin layer of inner padding throughout. If roadies handled my gear, I wouldn't use this bag. But since they are moved around by yours truly, the bag is better protection than nothing at all. And if you're the careful type, it's all you really need. I just picked up a new Roland RS50 and I'm thinking about buying one more for that board.

Is "61-Key Keyboard" code for "dead body?"

This bag is far, far too large and floppy to protect a typical modern-day 61-key controller. It might fit three or four such controllers if you didn't care about the knobs / sliders / etc. all banging together in the bag. In fact, the bag is far too large and floppy to protect any 61-key synth that I am aware of that's been made since approximately 1991. If you're bringing your vintage Emulator II to the gig, it might work nicely for your needs unmodified... as long as you can baby the case all the way from the car to the stage, because there's certainly not much useful padding either. Who needs some seven inches of depth for a keyboard?

I was also surprised to discover that the case was marked "non-returnable" on my Musicians' Friend invoice. This despite the fact that there's no mention of that non-returnable status here on the ordering page nor of any MF return policies relating specifically to cases or gig bags. Of course, if you did try and return it, you'd be charged for shipping - and if you got free shipping with your order, as I did, it seems you'd be double-charged. At that point it would literally be more expensive to return this enormous honkin' floppo-case than it was to order it in the first place.

So I'm stuck with a bag that will only be handy for that gig down the road when I end up murdering a bandmate on the set break and need a way to sneak their body out of the club unnoticed. I guess that could happen. Meanwhile, I'm off to the fabric store to see if I can buy enough foam to fill the 4/5ths of this thing's inner capacity that is unwanted and maybe even, y'know, offer some protection for the knobs on my controller.

      Disappointed

Comments about Musician's Gear 61-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

Very flimsy, very little padding, poor zippers...useful for a bag, but the only protection this offers is from moisture -- don't bump your board on anything and expect this to protect it. Disappointed.

      Second Generation DX7

Comments about Musician's Gear 61-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I bought this soft case for my second generation DX7 about 9 months ago. When I bought my DX7 in 1988 I bought a heavy flight case to carry it. Recently I started subbing in a rock band - The DX7 has all the right sounds - so I started using this case. This case is too big for the DX7. My lovely wife and I ? She did all of the sewing ? fixed it up: We added three pockets in the front for my volume pedal, sustain pedal, and for a Furman 6 socket power supply with extension cord. We also added 2 inches of foam all around the case. We used thick heavy fabric to construct the pockets and to enclose the foam, and we used industrial strength Velcro to hold everything in place. The top of the case has only one inch of foam held down by Velcro, the other inch is free so that I can put it on top of the keyboard so that other stuff, like gig tape, can be put between the foam. We spent around $33.00 for the supplies. Fixed up, I rate this case a 10 in all categories. It?s very COOL functionally and aesthetically!

Comments about Musician's Gear 61-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I bought this because it was the cheapest and had preety good value. It needs a little more padding and better handles. But bside that it's a great bag. If you have an expensive keyboard, though, I would go with a hard case or a better gigbag.

Comments about Musician's Gear 61-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

Not only did I like this product but the service that musician's friend did was excellent! I am very impressed.
This is a handy little bag. I thought the outside pockets were small but it was big enough to put my keyboard adaptor and my pedal. And more room inside to place my keyboard music stand.

Comments about Musician's Gear 61-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I was prepared for this to be a bit too long and wide, because it was clear from the description, but I had not internalized how deep (tall) the bag is, and as a result, it's pretty sloppy. I sew, so I can remedy the situation, but I wish there was a more streamlined bag for my little 61-key Yamaha.

Good gigbag for the money. Will protect your keyboard in all normal circumstances and even has room for a single pole stand also. I highly recommend this purchase.
