This thing will protect your keyboard perfectly, but it will most likely be a good bit larger than your keyboard, as it is for my Keystation 88es. It has been referred to by bandmates as my "body bag", because it is so big. I put a foam rubber divider in it so it can now carry my stand as well. I have also carried my friend's jazz Bass in it and plan to carry my keytar in it as well, which is currently on the way from ebay.

Shortly after obtaining my gig bag I utilized it for a Christmas concert. Upon placing my Korg Triton LE88 and using the shoulder strap to tote the board from my car to the front door of the church, I grabbed the handle just in time before my keyboard struck the ground. The shoulder strap uses metal rings attached to the side of the gig bag. These metal rings are not soldered together. The metal ring actually bent allowing the shoulder strap to slip completely out of the ring. I find this to be unsatisfactory engineering when musicians are placing a $2000.00 or more musical instrument in it which it is suppose to carry!!!If you own a light Casio, this would be the bag for you. If you own an expensive quality instrument, I would stay away from this engineering flop!!!

Almost a disaster

By Fingorrs

from So.Cal.

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I recently bought a new 88-key Roland Fantom so I used my SKB to transport it and relegated my back-up Korg SG1D to this new Musician's Gear 88-key gig bag. As I lifted it to my shoulder the metal D-rings at the bottom of the strap immediately opened and but for my son's quick reflexes it would have hit the concrete driveway. The bag itself seems good enough but stronger metal rings are a MUST. I'm glad the Fantom wasn't in the bag 'coz it's even heavier.

You Get What You Pay For

By Michael Reid

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

Pros: Lots of room; two large storage compartments.
Cons: Cheap fabric; zippers easily rip; not a good fit for most keyboards; shoulder strap useless.
This bag started to rip around the zipper after about the 4th use. I use it with a Casio WK 3800 (not very heavy). The bag is too large for the instrument so I had to fill the void loosely with some foam. Thin, cheap material. My wife is a seamstress and says it can no longer be repaired. My next case will cost more but should certainly hold up better. It gets used about 2 weekends per month.
Cheap fabric.
Cheap. Inexpensive too.

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I've bought several of these over the years. They're fine for lighter keyboards and limited use. Heavier keyboards will eventually cause the liner to separate (happened to all of mine so I know from where I speak) and zippers ultimately give up the ghost. My keyboards are all weighted and heavy and I gig A LOT. But these are inexpensive, provide good protection, and if you're moving your stuff infrequently or storing them in the house between occasional gigs, practice, or rehearsals, they're perfect.

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

Bigger than it needs to be for the Yamaha DGX-640, but this gives me space to install a box for the accessories, like large size sustain pedal, power strips, amp cables, and music stand. Long strap does not work well for an undersized (for this bag) keyboard. Moral: get the right size...
Nothing for this size keyboard is going to be easy to carry.

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

This bag is a fine purchase, but it is pretty large. I have an 88 key Casio, but it doesn't come close to filling up all the space. If you play a lot of shows I would recommend getting a slimmer fitting case. If you just need something to keep the dust off your keys for home use, then it would serve very well.

            By David Bush

            from PA

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

A very roomy bag. However, the materials continue to rip and proved mostly worthless. Perhaps a good bag for a non-weighted keyboard, but that's questionable.
Purchased this to be used with a Korg keyboard (88 weighted keys). Very large. Too large for my keyboard. Extra space made it feel very insecure.
Materials are close to worthless. Ripped along the zipper on second trip out.
Obviously didn't cost much. But this is clearly a case of, "You get what you pay for."

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I liked the 61 key Musicians Gear Keyboard Gig Bag I bought, so I got the Musicians Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag for my Prokeys 88 ex. It is kind of like a hockey bag, being so huge. I saw the strap rings were kind of weak, so I took off the strap and plan on using just the hand grips. I didn't put my Triton 88 in it(2 words: Hard Cases). Then I put in 4 of my P64 LED par cans mounted on a crossbeam. Works perfect! Keeps the cans from banging around in the SUV, and has pockets for the DMX cables and extension cords. I'm buying another 3 just for my other lights!

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

My band uses several of these bags to carry things other than keyboards. They are simply the best bags for the money to carry stands, lights, or practically any other long equipment. They've held up pretty darn well for us. After a few years of fairly rugged use, the seams and zipper may give out but it is still a great value!

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

For the price, this cant really be beat. Again, ..it is VERY large. Very Wide, and it fits the bill for a light duty bag for your synth or piano.
Plenty of room, nice pouches, sturdy handles, enough padding for light duty.
Musician's Gear product can be hit or miss, but if u need a fairly inexpensive and VERY large gig bag, ..this is the one. Pretty sure it could hold a human body too, ...just sayin.
This was cheap for the amount of padding and durablilty u get. I hold my 40+ pound Roland X8 in it, along with cords and pedals and have no trouble with it. Seems sturdy enough.

One should make sure a keyboard is going to take up EVERY dimension of this case before ordering it. If your keyboard is a bit too small in any one dimension, using this case is pretty much like carrying a hockey bag.

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

I agree with some of the reviews (and laughed out loud at the guy who wrote that it was so big, he uses it to store his Christmas tree), but I turned the initial negative into a positive and I'm loving the outcome. Yes - it is huge - the pic they show you is taken far, far away from the item and so you assume it will be of the like dimensions you're used to [believe me, at first I thought it was for another instrument and that it was a mistake but, yes, the interior dimensions jived with the specs]. BUT HERE'S THE SCOOP - I trimmed the top of my keyboard shipment box and use it (as well as the two styrofoam supports on each side) and inserted it inside the carrier for added protection. Now, I have a light-weight yet sturdy carrying case and MY BABY IS SAFE AND SOUND wherever I go. THANK YOU!

Comments about Musician's Gear 88-Key Keyboard Gig Bag:

Its a strong bag. Able to handle my 57lbs Roland RD 700 fine. It's oversized so I will eventually find some foam to fill in the space but it's always better to have too much space than too little (actually there's enough "space" for me to fit in my "X" stand as well. That's a plus)! Interior stitching is a little rough but that's no big deal especially considering the price. Basically, if you need a bag to transport your heavy, full sized 88key keyboard form your basement to your car and to the stage and back you'll do fine with this. That's what I needed it for and it delivers fine for that need.
