There are so many guitar stands on the market, it's tough to tell which will work best, until you get one home and lay your guitar in it. But, this is the most stable, protective stand I've purchased an I'm sure this one will be with me a long time.
The protective cushioning on this stand, is terrific. The A-Frame is very sturdy and the black powder-coat finish will likely last a lifetime. And, it will accommodate a wide-range of instrument depths.
This stand showed-up to reveal a very high-quality product, that accommodates all the depths of acoustic guitars I have. It's sturdy, made well and protects my guitars at all contact points.
I expect to purchase a couple additional for my other acoustics. Thanks MF, for a very high-quality stand at a reasonable price.

Strong solvent smell from molded plastic pieces

This stand is similar to 2 other A-Frame stands that I have except that the pad at the top of the A-frame on this is a medium soft molded piece of plastic ( as are the foot pads) instead of foam. Unlike these stands, right out of the box this had an overpowering solvent smell to it to the point where my wife told me to get it out of the house. So I put it in the garage for several weeks and even left it out in the sun a couple of days hoping that the solvent would outgas but so far the smell is still there. My point being, I have always been leery of anything but cloth contacting my guitars finish and I put cloth on all the support surfaces of my other 2 racks which don't have this issue. There is no way I am letting anything that reeks this strongly of solvent anywhere near my guitars. I have no idea what type of plastic they are using in these but I definitely would not recommend that you set instruments on these without some type of buffer between the instrument and the stand.

This stand is labeled for acoustic guitars, but I bought it anyway because of the low price. It works fine with my electrics, even though the base is a little deep. If the materials damage some guitar finishes, maybe the manufacturer should consider using different materials.

This is much better than the standard tube stand where the guitar leans on the neck, at least for an acoustic. If I need another one for one of my electrics, I'll try this style. Currently those hang on the wall, but I wanted an inexpensive (no, it's really cheap, but only in cost) stand for the family room that would fit in a small place. Since there is no neck holder, with the usual clip, it's easy to grab the guitar and easy to put it back. It's stable and will have no tendency to push on the neck. (I hate it when something pushes on my neck).
If you need a floor stand, this one is great. It has an interesting mechanism for folding or adjustment and it is quite heavy (lots of metal) for the price.

These little stands are about as handy as they can be. They take up very little space and are easy to carry from one room to the next, though I chose to have several so I don't have to. It's easy as pie to drop your guitar down in one of these little stands with no muss nor fuss. And the price? Incredible.

Since 2003 I have been using a double-guitar stand. Needless to say I ended up being fairly disappointed with how cumbersome and unstable that was.
This A frame stand is very sturdy and you won't need to worry about the guitar tipping off of it like I was (It is built lower to the ground than other stands). The nice thing about it, is that I carry one for my bodhran (wood frame drum) because it provides such good stability. I have three of these, I use one for my 12-string, one for my 6-string, and another for my frame drum. It works well for all three. I was also impressed that it is mostly made of metal & rubber, also it adjusts to a wide or narrower seat. So it is not cheaply made.

Always need stands on stage, but don't like breaking them down for transport? This is a good choice and sturdy too. Comes with warning about nitro color damage, so I will probably replace the bar padding eventually and maybe put a rubber pad on the back support.
