We have been using the standard stands for a while now and have issues when we go to gigs trying to find the right craddle to fit the base, and the foam sleeves get lost easily, also you have to set up all the stands first because you need both hands. With these they stack in 4s well, push the button with your thumb and they open right up, you can have them stacked in a pile, grab your guitar and then grab a stand and set up where you need to, easy peezy.
We decided to go with all acoustic because they were on sale, and we have alot of hollow body guitars that we were afraid wouldn't fit well on the electric only stands, electrics fit well on the acoustic stands by the way.
As for the Nitro paint issue, we don't have the money for those guitars, but the sleeves could easily be replaced with surgical suction tube if that were an issue.
All in all with the exception of the release button on the back and the foam sleeve on the craddle I think these stands are sturdy, convienient, small enough for stage use and will out last the standard craddle with neck support stands, and they look better to boot.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Acoustic Guitar Stand 2-Pack:

These are more stable then many of the stands I've used before. (Including Last Stand)The button that changes angle of legs were hard to push. Not for nitrocellulose finishes. I like these stands for stage performances. I'll ultimately cover the material used as cushion for the instrument. Not sure what the difference is between these and the less expensive models from Musicians Friend. This design is really good on stage can switch instruments and not worry about the instrument tipping over. I play guitar mandolin and banjo.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Acoustic Guitar Stand 2-Pack:

Well made and I have used this A frame for both acoustic as well as electric guitars.
The locking at different widths is a good feature not found in other stands.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Acoustic Guitar Stand 2-Pack:

I needed 2 of these for 2 cases, I have 2 of an other type. These are far superior in construction. I also like the fact that I can adjust the width
        with the spring loaded buttons.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Acoustic Guitar Stand 2-Pack:

Inexpensive and effective. I use them with both dreadnaughts and 3/4 body guitars and the guitar stands work with both. The hinge system has a locking mechanism which slows setup and takedown slightly but gives me a better sense of security than those that use friction to remain open.

Not for nitrocellulose guitars. It comes with a label telling your that. It does hold my Telecaster really well. I don't like the way it holds my acoustic guitars. I am just not comfortable with that. So, I say better for used electrics. I like the stand in general.
