There are so many guitar stands on the market, it's tough to tell which will work best, until you get one home and lay your guitar in it. But, this is the most stable, protective stand I've purchased an I'm sure this one will be with me a long time.
The protective cushioning on this stand, is terrific. The A-Frame is very sturdy and the black powder-coat finish will likely last a lifetime. And, it will accommodate a wide-range of instrument depths.
This stand showed-up to reveal a very high-quality product, that accommodates all the depths of acoustic guitars I have. It's sturdy, made well and protects my guitars at all contact points.
I expect to purchase a couple additional for my other acoustics. Thanks MF, for a very high-quality stand at a reasonable price.

Strong solvent smell from molded plastic pieces

This stand is similar to 2 other A-Frame stands that I have except that the pad at the top of the A-frame on this is a medium soft molded piece of plastic ( as are the foot pads) instead of foam. Unlike these stands, right out of the box this had an overpowering solvent smell to it to the point where my wife told me to get it out of the house. So I put it in the garage for several weeks and even left it out in the sun a couple of days hoping that the solvent would outgas but so far the smell is still there. My point being, I have always been leery of anything but cloth contacting my guitars finish and I put cloth on all the support surfaces of my other 2 racks which don't have this issue. There is no way I am letting anything that reeks this strongly of solvent anywhere near my guitars. I have no idea what type of plastic they are using in these but I definitely would not recommend that you set instruments on these without some type of buffer between the instrument and the stand.

The one disadvantage is without neck support the guitar is more easily knocked over. But you gain portability.

This stand is sturdier than I thought! I mainly needed an acoustic guitar stand for use at home in my "studio". I have a old Hamilton stand I use on stage for my Tele.
The nitro-cellulose warning should be considered before buying I suppose ! At this price you don't like it... you're not out much more than a trip through McDonalds drive thru. Go For it !

This stand is labeled for acoustic guitars, but I bought it anyway because of the low price. It works fine with my electrics, even though the base is a little deep. If the materials damage some guitar finishes, maybe the manufacturer should consider using different materials.
