i have 6 guitars--jumbo, dread, OM, lap steel, parlor, and electric bass. thanks to its adjustable width feature, this stand works for them all. as for the back cushion being harmful to certain finishes, drape your polishing cloth over it, fool! also, my bass has an overall length of 45.5"; and it still would take a hard shove to knock it over backwards.

i've been playing for over 50 years, have had this stand for the past 10, have since tossed all others, and (since the price/benefit ratio is laughable) gonna now order another just in case MF decides to discontinue.

even though i doubt seriously that the one i have will ever break/wear out.

Stands are a great price, small and they are very solidly built so I bought 2 to try out. The stand adjusts to different widths. The main issue is the arms that support the guitar are much larger then they appear in the photo. This means the guitar reclines back at too much of an angle. The guitar ends up putting more weight on the back of the guitar where the stand touches the guitar. This would be a simple manufacturing fix, and shows then need to do more product testing with a range of guitar sizes. This would work better for larger body electrics. However I wouldn't put a semi-acoustic on it because of pressure of the back of the body. I think it is flawed enough that I will see if I can fix it... nope. The arms are welded on.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

The Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand (Black) failed to deliver a satisfactory functional performance. In use the electric guitar body edge rests on the lower foam covered curved rods and leans back upon the hinged peak of the stand thus causing the guitar to rest at almost a 45 degree angle. This was way too reclined for me. I mistakenly "went cheap" and "cheap" is what I got with this stand. Not only were parts of the stand mal-formed but the overall design concept is flawed for thin bodied axes. Its very low price makes the return shipping cost prohibitive. This kind of product lends itself to "try before your buy" at a brick and mortar retailer. I gave it a 2 for features because it folds flat. Quality was 1 because one of the foam covered rods was irregularly bent coming right out of the box. My '74 Gibson SG and '90 G&L ASAT deserve better.

Build quality is poor. Worst part is the angle the guitar will set at. The guitar leans back WAY to much for me.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

Like others said, I went cheap and that is what I got. Even the free guitar wall mount, I wouldn't trust it to hold up a plastic toy guitar. You win some you lose some, this was a loss. Also not returnable. So a total loss. Hey I should have read the reviews first, instead I thought how bad could it be. Well pretty bad.

Makes guitar lean back too far, not upright enough. Ok for a thicker body guitar, not a 339.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

The "arms" the guitar sits on are bent too large to hold the guitar in an upright position. It would probably work fine for an acoustic or deep depth electric, but that's not how it's described on the site. I bought two and ended up having to return them both.

            Stupid Design

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

As others have noted, a thin guitar leans too far back, so it looks ridiculous, and takes up too much space--if placed against a wall, it protrudes 2' into the room. (And frankly, on stage, the large footprint, w/ the neck sticking way out could be hazardous.)

I don't know about the other reviewers' units, but mine looks different than the one pictured in that the arms that hold the guitar extend a full 3" before bending downward, so the guitar tilts back about 35-40 degrees.

No qualms about stability. (Not sure what others expect from an A-frame stand.) And the construction quality fine. But the geometry is stupid. Even an acoustic doesn't sit as upright as you'd like.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

If the guitars would sit more upright this would be a steal. Since they tilt more overall room storage is taken up to compensate guitar head hitting walls.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

This stand does the job(holding my Epi Dot Studio) pretty good for but, as a previous reviewer(KO) stated, a Styrofoam pad is needed to hold a guitar more upright.
I'm gonna try & rig up a pad for mine so I can set it flat against my bedroom wall, beside my amp.

Was kinda disappointed that the guitar sits/leans so far back but it ain't a dealbreaker.
