This A-frame folding stand has a deeper curve in the bottom guitar support, so your instrument will not slide to one side as with using an acoustic guitar stand with a solid body electric. The large rubber feet keep it steady, no sliding. Some of the stands back support react with nitro cellulose and cause blemishes in the finish. I use a piece of "mole skin" adhered to the stand back support to solve that problem. These are very well made and very affordable.

It's an affordable stand - there's no worries about it breaking/falling apart.

The problem with the stand is that the guitars aren't really cradled that well and the back rest is the corner of the top of the stand; so there's very little surface area to keep the guitar upright and if the stand isn't perfectly level on the floor - your guitar is taking a dive.

It folds up nicely enough so it's handy to bring along as a back up and if you have a cheaper guitar that you're not all that attached to it's fine.

If you're looking for a stand for a guitar you REALLY care about - spend a couple bucks more!

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

As others have noted, a thin guitar leans too far back, so it looks ridiculous, and takes up too much space--if placed against a wall, it protrudes 2' into the room. (And frankly, on stage, the large footprint, w/ the neck sticking way out could be hazardous.)

I don't know about the other reviewers' units, but mine looks different than the one pictured in that the arms that hold the guitar extend a full 3" before bending downward, so the guitar tilts back about 35-40 degrees.

No qualms about stability. (Not sure what others expect from an A-frame stand.) And the construction quality fine. But the geometry is stupid. Even an acoustic doesn't sit as upright as you'd like.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

The only thing about this stand that really isn't well designed is that the angle of the lean-back on my guitar is quite a bit more than any other guitar stand that I've ever seen.
But it's easily fixed if you just attach something to the rest on the back of the stand that will prop your guitar up at a more secure angle.
However, this stand was so inexpensive that I won't complain too much about it. It is sturdy and I got what I paid for. And it DOES hold a guitar, which is what I was looking for.
Bottom line: for the price it works.

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

For the great price, I was afraid I would recieve garbage. But I was pleasantly surprised with these stands. I got 3, and really dig em....
They do take up a bit of toom since the guitar leans quite a bit, but they are rock solid, and I feel confident placing my favorite axes in them.
I don't have to stand there and make sure they are not going to fall, ha ha...

Comments about Musician's Gear A-Frame Electric Guitar Stand:

Excellent price! There is a tag which warns that pads may harm nitrocellulose finishes, so I covered the padding with a pair of socks which works fairly well. I purchased 3 for electric guitars, but my Jazz Bass V is too long so this model is for full or 3/4 size electrics or thinline acoustics
