These 80/20 bronze strings have a great sound and last just as long as the expensive name brand strings that cost much more. They have a brilliant color, and the windings appear uniform across the length of the string with no gaps or machine errors. After three or four good stretches they stay in tune no problem, and go through the standard life cycle / string phases just like any other guitar string.

Other reviews claim these strings die out quickly, or are dead sounding from the start, or that they leave a black residue on the fingers - none of these have ever happened to me personally, and I have been using these Musician's Gear strings exclusively for both my electrics and my acoustics for over a year now.

Just make sure you wash your hands before playing so you don't gunk them up - Then make sure to wipe them down when finished to maintain maximum lifespan..

The cost / value of these strings just cannot be beat! I hope the quality and price of these strings continues to be offered indefinitely!
They're strings - so not much in the way of features
These strings sound just as good, and last just as long, as name brand strings costing 5x the price!
You cannot beat the price and quality of these strings! At this price you can buy in bulk and change as frequently as you like...

Yeah, I know....these aren't elixirs or Martins but what the heck! I'm a luthier who specializes in repairing old beat up acoustics. So everytime you have to string one up to see how it's playing, and then take the strings off to get back inside. The tensioning and retensioning means they are likely to break soon anyway. For the price these play almost as well as the fancy name brands. Sometimes (cause I'm a cheap son-of-a- I'll even jam and gig with these.

They are bright and full on most acoustics of any size/style. The only real negative is that they lose their tone fairly quickly and need to get changed again. So what for this price!

These strings are a bargain. I just installed them on a martin dread. they sound good, intonation is good, price is great. too soon to speak to longevity, but so far, these are fine.

Comments about Musician's Gear Acoustic 13 80/20 Bronze Guitar Strings:

I restore and rebuild guitars for resale, so I use a lot of string sets. I've tried the others, but for the money spent, you can't do better than these. They come in all the appropriate gauges, sound good and give long life. I have them on my keeper guitars as well. No problems. Unlike some other brands I've tried, the high E doesn't break nearly so often as with some more expensive brands. You might not want them for professional, stage or studio use, but for everything else, they're fine. The tone is good, so is the playability. Once stretched in, they stay in tune well too. Unless you're a pro, these will do. Many pros could use them as well, for their at home, everyday guitars.

I think I have used these before, but I bought 5 packs of these just because I was making an order. I put them on my BlueRidge BR-70 (which has effortless action) and it sounds like garbage now. It is fine for chunking chords but I can't do anything else. I am miserable now, I hate that I have to order new strings and I'm left with 4 sets of awful strings.

these strings are average quality, tone is good and windings seem consistent, the price is what makes them worth buying for those on a budget.I actually payed more for shipping than I paid for the sets so next time I will order more.

I recommend these low cost, yet effective heavy gauge musicians friend acoustic guitar strings. I use these on a regular dreadnought style acoustic guitar; and tune down a minimum of one full step. Sounds great, stays in tune great, and records great.

I wouldn't even use these as backup. For one, they hardly stay in tune and I think they have a really awful feel to them. Not only that, but these strings usually last me a couple days and then then the clarity's gone. I highly recommend Dunlop. It may cost a little more, but you'll get more out of those than these. >_<'
