I bought this on deep discount as a "stupid deal of the day", about 30% off. It's an "ok" gig bag. Not great, limited protection, but vastly better than no case/bag at all. Pros: - Pretty good quality canvas- Decent zippers- Has 1 handle in addition to padded backpack straps. Its also a plus that the back pack straps are padded - I've seen cheap cheap gigbags where that wasn't true, but the also contained no padding in the bag. - Case has some padding - Price is affordable on any budget. - Has two pockets, one is closed by a flap, the other is zippered and is in that flap. Cons: - Padding is very thin by comparison to a $40 gig bag. They claim say 18mm, but its more like 9mm or 1/4", or about 1/3 the padding of a $40 gig bag.- main pocket is "closed" by a flap, so I could see how things could fall out. A zippered pocket would be preferred. But it will hold an instruction or music book and is about 1" "thick/deep" by about 11"x12".- Lacks a 2nd handle on the face/top, which is a nice feature.Overall for the low low discount price I paid, it was a good deal for the intended purpose. If your guitar is over $250 I would pay more and get a better bag but for student guitars its a fairly decent option. It will provide some protection and provides a way to tote the guitar to lessons conveniently.

I have a physical handicap that requires me to use crutches in order to walk and makes it impossible for me to carry my guitars in an ordinary hard case. This case allows me to carry an acoustic guitar from place to place, which is great! As it is soft and somewhat thin, I do not know that it offers the best protection, but of course you have to be more careful with a guitar in a soft case than a hard case.

My major complaint is with a set-up for storage attached to the front of the case. A large flap held down to the front of the case by a plastic clip opens to expose several relatively small fabric pockets that close with Velcro. I just used the case to carry my guitar on vacation and used several of these pockets to carry the strings, a string changing tool, a tin of picks, and a tuning fork. By the time I got the guitar out of the case and went to put the strings on, the tuning fork had fallen out without my awareness and was nowhere to be found.

There is a zippered pocket on the front of this flap (that I unfortunately had not noticed when I packed), so I would in the future simply use that and forget the hidden pockets with Velcro enclosures hidden under the flap. As they are designed, after this experience, I can't think of anything that I would trust carrying in them, for fear that it would fall out and be lost. In fact, the string changing tool and the tin of picks went back home in the zippered pocket on the front of the case.

For what it is worth to know, the flap also covers a large, flat pocket that is sized to carry a music book or two, and that is fine.

For the price, I think this case is fine for its purpose, and I would just recommend to a friend that they not use the pockets under the flap.

Nice Bag

By BassOuji

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

Very good bag for everyday protection. It won't protect against being dropped or anything but if its for some traveling its fine. Wish it had better padding on the inside. However, I do like the straps they are very nice being padded and having to bike with it on my bike somedays.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

Musicians Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig BagOK, this is a decent gig bag for this price. I've had mine for 3 years and it's holding up OK. A word of caution: thing do fall out of the small inner pockets, use the large zippered compartment instead.I wouldn't put a high-end Martin or Taylor in it, but it's great for carrying your camping beater around!

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

Not the padding I expected. This is purely a gig bag for going from your house to a local gig. It will protect your guitar from scratches but definitely no protection if you drop the bag. I am somewhat disappointed but thats what happens when you go cheap.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

This was suggested to me by the customer service rep and I am glad I listened, the guitar I bought fits very suggnely in the bag and I can't believe all the pockets. my daughter is still finding more pockets every tie she gets it out. Construction appears to be very good, nice padding, good handles, straps and zippers.

      Good at sale price

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

I gave it a 9 for value based on the fact that I got it on sale at half of what their asking now. Not worth the regular price. Padding not as thick as I was hoping. It has a lot of little pockets but for anything small I would use the zipper pouch on top. I thought that I had lost a slide but I found it under the front seat of my car. I would only use the inside pockets for straps, cleaning cloths, or other bigger stuff that won't fall out if you carry it behind the seat of your car. Well I got it for the Rogue Dreadnought that I got with the harmonica deal so I got it pretty cheap. If I actually had a guitar I had spent some money on I would go with a hardshell case.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

Finally, I found reasonably priced protection for my 27 year old Ovation. My old round back fits perfectly in this case. No its not a custom hard shell case, but it doesn't cost $150 either. The quality of construction is excellent and the price cannot be beat.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

I would have purchased something else had I known about the thin padding.
The padding was so thin that I was really disappointed. The same model purchased several years earlier was better for padding.
The cloth looks nice and well made; if only the padding was thicker.

Do not place an expensive guitar in this case

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Gig Bag:

I own several of these cases, because they are cheap and will hold a Jumbo and I could not find another gig bag that could. But please do not put an expense guitar in this case. it is okay for Epi, Ibanez, fenders or Washburns or you will be sorry if you stick a Martin or Gibson in it. I just does not have the cusion protection and the first drop will leave you in a fit of regret.
