I have 5 of the MF house brand cases....-I have two of the LP cases for Melody Makers.-I keep a resonatoer in a OOO sized case.-I keep a 70's Tribute SG in the SG case and I used to have another SG case for a Faded SG.For [$] this is a very nice case. You can buy a better case for twice the price and I have many cases that cost twice the price but for [$] this is a well made and safe place to store a guitar. The handles are sturdy and the latches are sturch and the arch top in the case adds a lot of protection to a flat top guitar. If you buy one of these cases when MF has their coupon offers then you're getting a fantastic deal.

The case is better than a Gig Bag, and it fits the circumfrence of my SGJ-14, but the headstock sits hard on the bottom. I keep a small folded towel under the horns and rest my rolled up leather strap under the neck, just past the body, to protect the neck from breaking at the headstock if it takes an accidental fall. I know now why it had such a low price. It has a lock, but no key! Called Musician's Friend TWICE, but still no key. Musician's Friend's return policy would have cost me almost half as much as I paid for the case in order to return it. I've made my last purchase from them. I have buyer's regret, knowing that I should have waited and ordered a TKL or Gibson Case. A very disappointing experience overall.

I am very impressed with this case. Very good value for money and frankly little different from a major brand. Very sturdy and with a good handle. Recommended.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe SGS Solid-Guitar-Style Hardshell Case:

I bought it as a gift for an epi SG 310
I purchased used for next to nothing and gave to my wife after I adjusted the neck action and pickups. Good enough for this guitar looks good, I don't think the lack of padding not contacting the body up by the neck rest will be an issue. good price but they said they would honor a 15% off discount cupon I didn't see at first and would send me conformation via e mail. no conformation yet and it has been a couple weeks. Might have to call customer service. BTW shipping to Iowa was at the Speed of light even at the Xmas season.
If I don't buy used I buy from MF.

I read many of the reviews before I purchased. This one is my second. It is a very good choice for the price. Some of the reviews really run this case down, but, both my guitars fit well and and protects the axes well. Would I use the to fly from gig to gig, NO!!!! But, if that's your need, why did you even look at this end of the spectrum.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe SGS Solid-Guitar-Style Hardshell Case:

Honestly, I was not expecting much considering how inexpensive this case was. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and I checked it out. It seems well built and sturdy, and the guitar fits perfectly. I would probably shell out more money for a heavier case if I was using the guitar for gigs. This guitar rarely leaves the house, so this case is perfect for the light use it will get. No complaints about it so far and the price can't be beat.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe SGS Solid-Guitar-Style Hardshell Case:

For the price, this is a great case. For what I'll be using it for, at home storage and trips to the music instructor, it's perfect. Don't expect to use this case for shipping or heavy travel, like airline use. Nice finish. Quality construction. Soft padded interior. Good fit for an Epiphone SG. Buckles/Clasps are a little loose when clamped, but they do have key locks if you're afraid of them accidentally opening.

where can you buy ANYTHING this cheap these days? and call and ask for the coupon and they knock off 5 more. ridiculous.

the latches are excellent, but do not snap closed snuggly. will cause zero problems, but it is a hair off of perfection.

the only glaring building issue is the inner compartment. the top wall of it (toward the head of the guitar) is not glued on (but stays in place because it is under the material) and loose. will not cause problems in this lifetime.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe SGS Solid-Guitar-Style Hardshell Case:

This case is fairly well made, but that's not the problem. The inside padding is raised, but not angled, so the point of contact is the bottom of your SG. From there, the neck rest is raised too high, so that the guitar rests at the base and in the middle of the neck. There is no second neck-rest, so that one is the only point of contact.

This leaves the guitar sitting in the case at an upward angle with the bottom contacting the inside of the case, and the one point on the neck contacting the neck rest. Closing the case puts downward pressure on the guitar...and thus, produces pressure that could snap the neck or the headstock, which does contact the bottom part of the top of the case.

Don't put an SG in here. It's a recipe for disaster until they redesign it to be more like a typical Gibson or Epiphone SG case.
