Very pleased with the case. Very rugged and fits the guitar perfectly...no wiggle room!! Big roomy outside pockets...great case for the price...you can't go wrong....BUY THIS!!
This case has a lot going for it. It's very light-weight and not as cumbersome as most hard cases. Overall quality is pretty good--nothing extravagant, but it gets the job done and it doesn't look too cheap or flimsy. This case offers a lot more protection than I expected. While it's not a true hard case, it does offer good crush/bend resistance and you could toss it around a bit without worries. The Durafoam material is stiffer and stronger than I expected. I still wouldn?t sit on it or anything like that, but it will stand up to some considerable abuse for sure. The fit of the case is nice and snug. (My guitar is a Fender DG-22S, which has "standard" dreadnought size/dimensions.) After reading some of the other reviews, I was concerned that this case might put too much pressure on the bridge of the guitar when the lid was closed. I figured at this price, I'd give it a shot anyway. It was a little tight at first, but after ?breaking-in? the case for about a week, the foam and plush material in that area became relaxed enough that it doesn't seem to put too much pressure on the bridge anymore. The one thing I don?t like is that it has a zipper closure. That means you have to unzip the zipper of the way around the case to open it up. That?s fine if you are just using the case for transporting your guitar and you don?t open and close the case frequently. But I also use my case at home for humidity control and I like to spontaneously grab my guitar and play for a few minutes and then put it away again to protect the wood from the dry air. I think a hard case with latches would be better for such conditions, since some of the humidity can escape if I just leave this case unzipped all the time. But hey, at this price, I'm quite happy and I think it's a great item. I?d definitely buy it again.
I would definitely recommend this case to others without hesitating. It was a lot better quality than I thought it was going to be. It is not top of the line but for the money I don't think you'll find anything close to it. Extra storage pockets on the outside and backpack type straps are a plus.
Had this case for about 7-8 months now. Fit my Washburn EA-9 like a glove and wraps it up in a stiff foam protective layer that is thick! It definitely takes the bumps and bruises in stride. A great value and light as can be. Outside pocket is large and comes in real handy. A definite winner.
I just got it. I stepped on it to see how durable it is; the body area flexed a couple inches under 150lbs of pressure. It's definitely not as protective as an actual hardshell case, but the foam makes it so that I can drop it and it won't damage the guitar. Just don't sit on it or put tons of stuff on top and it's an excellent guitar case. I bought it for my Martin DCX1E, it doesnt fit snuggly by any means, but the air pockets on the lid make it so the guitar doesnt shift during use. The pockets and backpack straps are very convienient and thats why I chose this case in the first place, but if it didnt have those I would've gone with a hardshell case.
I was about to order a hardshell case but I chose this on the last minute considering it has a strap so that I can easily travel around by sticking it on my shoulder...and it weighs less. Now it is overall a very good case but the only problem with this is that some Dreadnought acoustic guitars won't fit in properly...I have a Yamaha F310 and I have to push it forcefully inside and then zip it...it takes an effort! This is a very good case, except for the size issues.
This is the perfect case for people who occasionally pack a guitar for a car trip and want more protection than a gig bag can offer. The plush interior perfectly cradles any of my Fender electrics and between the spacious interior and the outer pockets, I have plenty of space for cords, tuner, picks, strings, etc. If anyone had told me ten years ago that there'd be a protective case that weighed so little, I'd have laughed and asked if it would fit snugly inside my flying car. This is the most practical case I've ever owned.
This is a great case. Good quality. Good protection. I don't see how they sell it so cheap!
I picked up one of these along with the purchase of my Alvarez acoustic. It is true, as stated in other reviews, that this case fits very tight, with the lid not wanting to close fully to be zipped. However, I have noticed that this was only temporary, because now my case is broken in and fits the guitar just right, and the lid now shuts fully. I suppose with the infinite number of various guitar sizes/shapes out there, these "fit-all" guitar cases must be designed this way so that the case can support any guitar securely. I really love this case, because it is light weight, and protects the guitar extremely well, yet allows the guitar to breathe since it is not locked inside an air-tight hardshell case. I always prefer a good gig bag over a hard case any day personally, due to I have several hardshell cases that must trap moisture inside and they tarnish the frets and hardware ( not to mention it ruins your strings prematurely ). This is a best of both worlds design. You have all of the comfort and storage benefits of a gig bag, combined with protection on par with a hardshell case!
Let me start off by saying that I hate gig bags. I endeavor to put my guitars in hardshell cases. I know that for musicians on a budget (like me) that can be a problem. I was looking online for a case for my beater guitar and came across the Durafoam. I read the reviews and for the price, decided to purchase one. I am very pleased with this product. It has alot of protection, is very light weight and has a nice set of compartments on the outside. Anyone who travels with guitars knows the abuse that they can get while loading, unloading and road trips. Although this isn't a hard case, it will definitely protect your axe.
Fetaures are good; value is good; but they are both dependant on the construction quality which has the following problems. The upper section of the case is smaller than the bottom. I could fit my none dreadnaught acoustic in the bottom but not the top and it wouldn't close because of the difference. My dreadnaught fit top and bottom but when the case was zipped it put a lot of pressure on the bridge because of an elevated portion on the top of the case. The zipper could have been better. I'm planning on returning it.
Really good quality. Holds all my gear for travelling around the state in my truck!
This a great case for the money. Well made, protective and nice looking. THe only issue I had with it was that it was very snug depth-wise. I am afraid it may put too much pressure on the bridge. I am hoping the foam will conform to my specific guitar. Only had it one day so only time will tell.
This case is an awesome accessory for any guitar and is well worth the money. Infact I am planning on buying another one as a present for a friend.
Sure I would not throw it out of the car window, but for just about the price of a regular gig bag, you cannot go wrong with this. The only thing that I could see that I do not like are the shoulder covers for the 'backpack' part. They are a little thin and dig into my shoulders. Other than that, this case was surprisingly good.
How can they sell this so cheap. This is a great value. It's strong, and light. My new Fender 12 fits perfect with room for all my goodies.
I bought a Travelite Durafoam-type case for my Metal Bodied Resonator, and liked it so much, I decided to order another for my my Washburn Dreadnaught. Well, it arrived today, and its not the same case, nor the same quality as the Travelite (which was the same price back when I bought it last year). This one is a Guardian case, will work just fine, but, next to the T.lite, is just not the same. I wish I had just bought the hard case, instead.
This is a great case! Don't be fooled by its low price this is a great deal. the csae is very protective and the outside pouch is very convinient. The inside is very plush and has that new case smell. Its awesome. I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, snug fitting case that is well worth the money.
Wow, what a great idea... more than a gig bag, but lighter than a case. Same bulk as a case, but just as protective and much, much lighter. Attractive, durable finish, plush interior.
I was tired of lugging sturdy, but heavy, guitar cases around and thought I would give this case a try. My Rogue 12-string fits and zips up perfectly. It has the padding and rigidness needed to protect my instrument but does not burden me with extra weight. I love it and will be buying more in the future as it is a quality product. I believe it is manufactured by Guardian.
