I have been a bass player for 30+ years and have gone through many sets over the years. I purchased a few sets of these because of their price, it was a cheap investment. They lose their brightness very quickly and there was two of three sets that had a dead string. I will not be trusting these in the future.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I have a new student who's bass guitar had horrible strings on it. You know, the rusted, pitted this guitar has been sitting in a closet a few years strings? He has limited funds, so I pointed him to Musician's Friend, and these strings. I put them on at his next lesson, and I was fairly impressed. They are packaged very nicely, went on well and came to tune easily. After playing his guitar with these on, I was impressed with them. They are very bright however, so if you are looking for that flat wound sound, these probably are not for you, but, for modern rock, pop, and country, and even electric blues, they are fine.

They are so bright sounding I had a thought... I would buy a set and try them on my acoustic electric bass instead of phosphore bronze. They sound great! I actually ordered four sets to get the free shipping, thinking I could always use them up on student's guitars. Instead I'll be putting them on my acoustic for my own use.

These are such a bargain for what they cost it is unbelieveable! Try a set...

Good strings.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I've been playing bass with these strings for a long time and never had any problems with them. I've recorded with them and I've gigged with them. You can't beat them for the price. I usually buy 2 sets at a time. Change your strings at least every 3 months and these will rule. Awesome value.

I have been playing for a year, so it isn't like I'm a pro or anything, but, for the price, these are one of the best sets I've put on my bass.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

Don't be afraid of the name -- these Musician's Gear bass strings are excellent value for the money. They're reliable, well-made, and make my Fender Deluxe Precision Bass Special with Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups a punchy monster. For just about half the price of the next best name brand strings, do yourself a favor and buy two sets of these -- I challenge you to find a meaningful difference.

      buy these strings!

      By Benson Klemme

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

Its funny that people with bad things to say about these strings still rate them very high. I am in the studio recording an album right now and my Sound Gear bass guitar has these strings on it. I am confident with the sound of these that I've passed up nicer studio instruments with older strings. I recommend getting a bottle of Fast Fret with any strings you have, but these strings have lasted me a good many studio sessions and live shows in between. This is not the first time I'm using them either. The only problem Ive had with these strings is that I did receive a pack that had 2 of the same gauge, however the value you get is well worth the cost!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I came across these a few years ago and decided to take a chance on them. I am so pleased I did... After many years of spending 2 to 3 times as much on a set of strings - this find was huge for me.
These strings are easliy as good as the Ernie Ball's I have been using for the past few years ( probably made by them or another big name brand anyway).
I change my strings frequently - I like a nice bright sound - and I am now able to stock up on these whenever they go on sale.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

Over the years I have used just about every brand of string that you could imagine. I have used no brand that's any better than these. These strings are a steal. Now I can change strings frequently without breaking the bank.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 4-String Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings:

I've got three basses and I use these strings on all of them. They can be a little rough on the fingers and it seems the consistency can vary somewhat, but that doesn't bother me. I prefer to change strings more frequently to keep that bright attack only new strings have. I don't care who makes the strings, they all lose that spank in a month or so, so why pay double the price? I do fill-in gigs and I play in a drink heavily/jam all night old guys band that never gigs. I've never broken one of these strings. Your mileage may vary.

You cant complain about these strings, they sound good, stay in tune, and cost less than half of almost all bass strings. I will continue to buy these strings. A great Value.
These strings sound good and stay in tune great.
Mine are as good as they were when I put them on my bass a couple of months ago.
A Great Value for such a low price.
