Before I discovered this brand and Musician's Friend, I used a number of well known brands for my personal guitars, and those I repaired. I broke the high E so often just trying to get it in tune the first time, I had to buy high E strings in bulk instead of part of a set. Now, that never happens with new strings, and I rarely break one even after some use and abuse. Sure, they'll lose their brightness after a while, but sometimes that works, they mellow with age. That sound is good too, depending on what you like of course. Get the right gauge and install them properly, you won't often get any problems out of these strings. Now, once in a great while you will encounter some that didn't leave the factory just exactly right, but it actually happens less with this brand than some well known brands that shall go unnamed, because I don't want sued.
I repair guitars, so I've tried about every brand out there. These are tops in my book, especially when you consider the low price. Frankly though don't let the price fool you, these are better than many of the name brands in many ways.
These are top quality, regardless of the low price. I do not break the high E strings like I often do with other brands. Once broken in, they stay in tune or very nearly in tune nicely. They wear long, have a nice tone even when not amplified, and do wonders when you crank it up. If you have any problems with these strings, you either picked the wrong gauge for your style, or you're not installing them properly.
It's not often you find a great deal like this, most would pass these by simply because they cost way less than the better known brands, that would be a big mistake. Frankly, other than choosing different string gauges for different purposes, I no longer use any other brand of steel strings, unless somebody gives me a set to put on their guitar, even then I try to talk them out of that, these are better than most, as good as any.

I bought several of these sets to try them out. So far, out of the 3 sets (.009's)I've tried, the little E has come unwrapped at the ball end on 2 sets. I won't be buying anymore of these. Aside from this problem, they sounded good, and had no other problems. It's back to Fender strings for me. Never had a problem with the Fenders.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

As an owner/collector with more than 26 guitars and counting, changing strings on a regular basis can be expensive, I am an experienced player with many years of D'addario and Ernie Ball use, and even Fender and Gibson strings which I dislike. These strings are good enough, they feel good and sound good, nothing special just pure playing pleasure, at least for me they work just fine, for practice you can't beat the price, grab some today and try them yourself! many thanks to those reviewers who kindly recommended these, I am convinced now...!
Cheers and Rock on!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

This are great. I have 15 guitars and about 5 get used routinely (I play at church every week). The strings on the 5 in the core group get changed about every 2-3 months. These strings hold up just as well as the D'Adario, Balls, etc. For the price, I'm more likely to change strings sooner than later. In the past year that I've been using this there has been no string breakage or tuning issues that I would associate with strings. They seem to go dead at about the same time as the name brands (2-3 months). If you are a pro and change more often, these will definitely save you money in the long run without giving up quality. At least give them a try!

I've been playing over 40 years (yikes!)

Quality strings at a reasonable price. You may not have the name brand on the package but the contents are pure quality. Besides, no one sees the package, they only hear the tone. Try these out, you will be surprised by the quality for the price.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

I put these strings on my Roadhouse Strat and my FSR Tele. Both guitars Rattled horribly. I took the strat to 4 different guitar shops to find out why it rattled so bad. It was setup perfect. My tele didn't rattle at all until I put these strings on it then it was terrible. When I switched to Fender super bullets the rattle was gone. Use as backups that is all they are good for!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric 9 Nickel Plated Steel Guitar Strings:

These strings are not bad. I go through strings a lot. With my sweaty and grimy digits the strings don't last long. But even the expensive strings don't last long for me either! The way I see it...why waste money on expensive strings when they will get dull and dead just as fast as the cheap strings.
The Musician's Gear strings gets the job done for me. Since I will have to change strings anyway might as well save some cash while I am at it.
Try them, they might just work for you.

I would not use these at a gig! That being said, these are great for your practice guitars. They have decent tone, last well, and you can afford to change them regularly. So, if you're not a pro, buy these, use them, change them often, and practice, practice, practice.

Good tone and sound. I do not see any issues with these strings. I have several guitars in my studio and am constantly changing strings. I buy 10 sets at a time. 1st E string may be a little shorter than regular brands but no problems even with in lines tuners. I have no complains about this.

I put these on an old Squier Stratocaster Bullett that had not been played in some time. I don't notice any qualities that would make them exceptional but I haven't had any problems either. They work as expected. Great value at the price for a full set of strings!
