Sturdy and Compact

By call me anonymous

from Madison, WI

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

I really like this stand. It's sturdy, adjustable, and easy to assemble.

I use it to hold my huge laptop (HP 8760W with 17" screen) above one of my keyboard synths in my home studio. It's just about perfect for my needs. The only thing I'd like to see different would be for the depth of the sheet metal flanges to be shorter, which would allow me to push my keyboard synth closer to it for a more compact arrangement on my desk.

I've had this stand for around 6 months and am getting ready to modify it. I want to change my setup so my laptop will sit above my Mackie CR1604 mixer. To do this, the laptop stand needs to become 8" wider, which means that I need to replace the two tubes that hold the left and right sides together. I'm going to buy steel tube (McMaster-Carr 89955K219), cut it to length, then drill each end to enlarge the inside diameter to 5mm (or 0.196"), then tap each end with an M6x1.0 tap.

Ill conceived design

By james hill jr

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

Do not waste your money. The stand is flimsy even when put together and tightened as much as possible. Also, they gave absolutely no thought as to how the laptop was actually supposed to stay on the stand. The lip at the front is so small, that the laptop is continually sliding off of it. This can easily be fixed with some modifications of your own, but why should you have to do that? If i wanted to build my own stand, i would have just done that to begin with.
The only positive to this stand is that you can adjust the height.
Kinda flimsy.
Save your money and buy something more expensive. This is the perfect example of "you get what you pay for."

Solved my problem, however.....

By Daniel Smedile

from SW Florida

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

I have a duo, play guitar, and mostly lay done my own tracks with my wife on vocals. I needed my mixer and laptop close to each other and this stand filled the bill. However, the front lips of the top of the stand should be about 1/2 higher because the front of most laptops are beveled and the laptop purchase feels unsure. Also at the junction of the bottom supports and the back risers is a reinforcement metal band that raises the rear bottom edge abount 1/2 inch. That in turn raises my Mackie mixer off the table I have set up to support both peices. Neither of these items has deterred from my presentations and the stand absolutely solved my needs.

Great Laptop Stand

By Tyler Harman

from Ballwin

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

This laptop stand is great if you are on a budget. It won't burn a hole in your pocket, and it'll get the job done just as great. With strong metal and comfortable padding, this keeps my laptop still so I can focus on more important things, like my music.

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

The worst piece of equipment you'll ever consider buying....a used cow-milking stool would be a welcome substitute. If you're a serious musician who expects quality, this is clearly no the piece of equipment you're looking for.
This was, by far, one of the worst laptop stands i've ever seen. Flimsy, ill-conceived put-it-together-yourself design that rivals The machined screw holes were stripped, the tray was too thick to fit between the frame and the knob, and the directions were completely useless.....steps put in the wrong order to achieve any success. This is a real embarrassment item. Please, i beg you, don't get fooled by the price. This is a real stinker. Ouch bob.

It does its job well

By Eileen Paredes

from California

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

This is great for the home studio. I bought it so that I could save space on my desktop and it's doing just that. If you don't mind the relatively simplistic design and you don't really need a mousepad, then this is the value piece for you. Glad to have gotten it from Musician's Friend - their service and shipping is top notch!
Adjustable height is a nice touch. It's high enough to let you stack equipment undermeath. Maybe 3-4 rack consoles or a mixer and one rack console. It's wide enough to hold my 13" MacBook too. The rubberized pads on the bottom help keep the unit stable on my desktop. No mouse pad but that is not a dealbreaker since I'm just uing the MacBook anyway.
Very good. Durable metal stand that's relatively sturdy as long as you're not rockin' out too much (which I probably won't do because I'm using this to record demos and things need to be...tamer) It does move a little side to side when I jostle it, but it holds up well to normal use. I wouldn't use it to hold a small keyboard or drum machine because the constant movement from playing your instruments will jostle the stand too much.
For its price, I'd say go get one if you're thinking about it.

Generic laptop stand is the way to go

By DJ Steven G McG

Comments about Musician's Gear Laptop Computer Stand:

If you need a decent laptop stand with no frills, look no further. Stanton and Odyssey charge twice the price of this, and basically does the same thing.
