I have one 6' that I was using for a recording vocal mic before I bought a mogami and a core X2, and let me tell you. That Musicians Gear 6 footer never gave me any issues and stands up well to other big brands. Not a monster or mogami, but you cant beat the price. Then quite a while back when they were a stupid deal of the day, I bought around 8 of them to use for the mics on my drumset because I had bought some cheapo ones on ebay before and half of them had crapped out. I've been using the ones I bought here now for over a year at least and not A SINGLE ONE has died on me. The noise is low, the ends are an EXACT copy of the neutrik ones that the more expensive brands use. I lined them up with some neutrik ones I had. Anyhow, I will be returning to buy more of these in the future for other applications. MIND YOU THAT THE CHEAPER MUSICIANS GEAR ONES WITH THE CHEAPER ENDS ARE IN FACT JUNK AND I HAVE HAD QUITE A FEW OF THOSE DIE ONE ME!

Sometimes our band members buy brand name products and sometimes not- depending on the quality. In this case, we should have chosen something else. These cables worked fine right out of the box, but our band plays out at least 4 times a month and the quality just isn't there, even for that minimal use. We started out with 20 XLRs and after a month or two, we are down to like 1/2 dozen. The main problem is THE CONNECTORS and/or the sodder connection of the wire to the connector. It is very easily broken. So, unless you're using these things at home, and very gently I might add... you should probably be looking at something with heavy duty connectors and maybe with a warranty involved- like Monster or Mogami or maybe Anything else. Please don't rely on these things if you have people depending on you to perform. You may get yourself into a bad situation!

Not Even If They Were Free

By CurtisG

Bought the ten pack a year ago. These cables are junk. I wouldn't take these cables if they gave them away for free. They would just make my garbage can fill up faster.

Remember this folks, you pay for what you get! These cables are cheap, and they sound cheap! I bought the 10 pk, and since then have replaced each and everyone of them with expenxive name brand cables. These cables have a crappy sound too! Spend the money on good cables, you'll be glad later on!

You Get What You Pay For

By nomuse

I have about a dozen of these now as they got included in various microphone purchases I made through Musician's Friend. And they've all worked at least once. The pins are off tolerance and seem slightly mis-aligned, the spring-loaded catch isn't and doesn't on several of them, and one failed on its first gig (on, unfortunately, a CONDENSER....meaning loud pops right in the middle of the show.)I don't think I'd record off them, or use them for anything critical, but in a pinch or on a budget, its better than no cable at all. Believe it or not I've seen (and even had to use!) worse.

Absolutely the worst

By musicray1949

I bought 10 of these a year and a half ago for my school rock band....out of the 10 I bought...NONE of them work. Tried fixing them, but in my opinion they're unfixable.

Got some use out of it, but...

I used this cable for around two years, and then it broke. At the time, I wanted something cheap, because I thought all cables are essentially the same. But if I knew it was going to break, I would've just got some better quality cables to begin with.

Yuck

By Whiplash92

I asked for some more Livewire 20ft cables for chirstmas, I got these instead. I love my livewire cables, very quite and well made. These...are total opposites and the 20 foot cable is only like 2 dollars cheaper, and the 2 dollars is not worth it. It pops, cracks, and does everything else you DONT want your cables to do. Sometimes its acceptable enough and you can manage, but 90% of the time its unacceptable. Musician's Gear makes ok stuff sometimes, this is not one of those times.

Noisy cable

By SomeCustomer

from Orange County, CA

I have purchased this 30 feet cable, and it came looking quite good, but very noisy. The level of noise generated by this cable is about half of the signal. I could not believe this and asked a friend (musician) to check it out. He said this cable did the same thing to his perfectly tuned system. I have opened the connectors, suspecting that the braid was not soldered on correctly. Nope, - everything soldered tight, however, the coverage appears to be 50% at best, and the wires look like 28 AWG. I know, it is a cheap cable. I am now buying MonoPrice 16 AWG gold-plated 35 feet for the same price, and it has 97.5% coverage.

Terrible Quality

I bought this cable, used it once and it quit. Doesn't work at all! I know they're cheap cables but you would expect more than one use.

Poor Quality

By cugrad84

from Montgomery, AL

These things are crap. I re-soldered the connectors on two of the three I bought after using them a couple of times. Tonight at a karaoke gig, two of them didn't work again. It was very embarrassing. I will look for better quality cables next time.
