I read positive and negative reviews. I needed the cheapest round base boom stands I could get (I hate tripods). I got 5. 3 of them were perfect, 2 of them had loose thread pieces, whatever you call that...thing that the boom screws onto. I use them for micing my drum kit in the studio. They work, but they don't get moved around a lot. I I Do over 100 live shows a year and I don't know if these would hold up long (years)on stage, but you'll get your money's worth out of em.

Overall they are better than I expected..especially the boom. If you need a functional boom stand on the cheap, this is your stand!

I ordered 3 of these mic stands, I figured they would be low quality but not this bad. The threaded ends didn't even match up, the female threads on one boom were too big to screw onto the stand, I had to put teflon tape on them to make it work! On the another stand the threads were spinning in the tube, so I couldn't tighten it up, I had to drill a hole & put a roll pin in it to keep it from turning! The third one worked ok ... so 1 out of 3 might be ok if you want to take a gamble. Go ahead & spend a little more & get better stuff!

Good Stand For Home Studio or On Stage

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

This is a great quality, and sturdy mic stand, it's not made cheap at all. This stand can handle a lot and is made strong and the metal is pretty thick. You can tell it will last for ever. I've only had it for a week now, but the quality is good and I recommend this stand for any musician new or old, home studio or on stage.

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

It's your normal mic stand...

Except that the thread piece spins in the tube and theres no way to tighten it. Can be really annoying. Makes most mics unable to be adjusted correctly. Tried to duct tape it, didn't work.

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

The stand itself is a great bargain. However, the boom is so poorly designed it's not useable in a live setting. The thumb screw to adjust boom in/out falls out when turned an eighth of a turn.

Great value

By TP-HSnk_

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

I was expecting this to be some cheap aluminum thing that would tip over if you looked at it. That is definitly not the case. I couldn't believe how heavy the box was. The base feels like it's made of cast iron or something similar, which makes it very stable. It works as a stand should. Everything moves smoothly, and locks tight. A pro who's been doing this for years would probably laugh at it, but for everyone else, don't hesitate to buy it!

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

This stand is the bottom of the barrel...but you get what you pay for here...the mast doesn't thread into the base like it should...has a thin threaded washer that screws on under the mast...not enough to hold the weight of the boom and all...very wobbly

I thought that the stand was great until it was knocked over and the boom mount completely cracked in half. It's ok for home use but I wouldn't perform with it.

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

There's not enough weight on the base. The entire stand tipped over several times (hopefully not damaging my mic). I tried different set ups with the boom pole but in the end the stand just couldn't stay up. Not even viagra could help this stand.

Comments about Musician's Gear Microphone Stand with Fixed Boom:

I bought 2 of these to use in my home studio; the stands with fixed booms were on sale; the price was great. They're unstable on carpet, especially with the boom extended and a condenser mic on the end, but I set them on pieces of plywood and that fixed the problem. They put the mics right where I want them, so they do what they're supposed to do.
