If you have a home studio and you need something practical this is it. The stand is perfect for a board that needs 12U of rack space like my (yamaha MG-166cx) or something similar. I also have 2 heavy crown amps,a equalizer and a power conditioner and still have just enough space to add a cd player later. The rack is sturdy and you could easily roll it around on the floor but this is definitely not for someone who plans on moving their equipment alot. But then you go back to the LOW price. I am very happy with this purchase.

I ordered this rack as an expensive way to mount a small mixer for home use. And this is an expensive rack that does hold my mixer. However, the quality of workmanship (at least on my unit) reflects the low cost: two casters were not screwed in and had to be remounted, and the U-shaped top rack that mounts the mixer was deformed with a poorly formed rail. Because of the latter problem, my mixer mounts approximately 1/8" off square and only four of the eight mounting holes lined up. I plan to re-bend the U-mount rather than return the unit. You get what you pay for. Perhaps there was some shipping or handling damage, but whatever... The unit is fixable and it does meet my needs. And it is cheap!

Comments about Musician's Gear Rolling Rack Stand:

I bought this to help consolidate my growing inventory of rack mountable equipment. Power supply, passive DI's, power amp and a few other tidbits. It would be easy to include a back set of mount guides/supports but there isn't anything on the sides or the back to support the back of the equipment. The biggest issue is the mixer rack is not square and supports are not welded correctly. There is an 8th of an inch gap on one side which causes the rack to be out of square and nothing lines up correctly. I have tried moving the supports around to see if I could get the thing square but no luck. Visually its unattractive to see support racks under the mixer mounts. With a bit more thought and quality put into this unit it could be a keeper but right now I would say I can't recommend the rack.

Comments about Musician's Gear Rolling Rack Stand:

This unit is worth the money spent! I knew before I purchased it I would have to get hardware and adjust my PA amps to make it fit. For less than Half a Century, I got a sturdy compact unit than can be carried by two people to gigs. The casters aren't the best quality and the brakes are difficult to engage...but I only paid half a Century. I even put a Mackey Pro12 mixer on it. I had to make a fabricate a plateform but the square holes are very aligned (although not standared spaced). Very easy to set-up, just make sure the straight bars are in thier proper place. If your stand seems uneven, you need to switch the top bar for one of the bottom bars. If you want an inexpesive stand and a little of your own time and cage nuts/bolts, this is a sturdy stand to consider.

Comments about Musician's Gear Rolling Rack Stand:

The rack was easy to put together. I also bought 2 packs of rack mount hardware to make installation easier. I mounted a 12 channel mixer on the top and with a slight tug it all lined up. NOTE: any open ended frame may need a tug but that's normal. Anyone having trouble with that should not be allowed near sharp items.

The front rack fit all the outboard equipment I normally use and everything lined up. The mounting hardware kits made the job even easier.

I was somewhat surprised that when I measured and cut a plywood base for the bottom it fit exactly, indicating that the assembly was in fact square. I use this bottom tray for cables I use a lot so that they are right at hand when I need them.

Comments about Musician's Gear Rolling Rack Stand:

The best bet for a heavy duty rack that will remain in one room (or stage). Easy to put together, so easy that no instructions are included. If you're looking for something to transport from gig to gig - better to go with the hard shell Gator racks. But if you just want something that will stay on the ground within a designated area - this will work just great.

Comments about Musician's Gear Rolling Rack Stand:

I cannot mount my audio 3U to 7U audio equipment on it! The top & bottom rack rail sets will not align to USA EIA standard square-hole spacings. For every 1U space, the stamped square-hole pattern "drifts out" thereby you cannot mount 3U, 5U, 7U etc, panels.[Useless!!]. These rails are either made to a different standard OR I have a Chinese manufacturer's defect. Instead of returning the item, I decided to grind off the both sets of defective rails and install heavy duty 10-32 threaded hole rails. [More expense!] So I advise M.F....customers should be told of this potential panel mounting problem prior to purchase.

Comments about Musician's Gear Rolling Rack Stand:

The Rolling Rack Stand is sturdy for a stationary setup, but I would not take it on the road.
The construction of the stand is well made except for the top adjustable shelf, the holes do not line up because the shelf is skewed and not aligned.
In order to make it work I had to bend the sides in order to be perpendicular to fit the Audio Mixer.
The biggest pain and extra expense is buying the hardware.
