I was a little hesitant to order these because of the price....I needed stands that would hold up JBL Eon Powered 15's. Well I was very suprised when I got these and opened them...GREAT STANDS...I went and set the equipment up and was very pleased with the stands. My last set of stands you would just raise the upper portion and tighten the nut and hope they would stay up...however these new stands have a pin you insert when you get them to the height you want,,thighten the nut and insert the pins ..NO WORRIES of them coming down when the music is at ELEVEN!!!!!..NICE!

Be careful with these, and they will do the job for you. But if you play a lot of gigs, you would probably be better served going with sturdier stands. I usually leave these behind, in favor of my heavier duty pair, unless I need to set up extra speakers.
I have a pair of these, and one of the knobs was broken already in the box when it arrived. They break very easily. The lock-down mechanism also breaks easily if you tighten it too tight. The pole end caps also break easily.

Adequate Speaker Stands

By Manuel Jimenez

from San Ysidro

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

Good stand for the price, watch for any missing parts the first time you open them, not the best stands but, if you not going to use them everyday, they should hold up pretty nice through your gigs.
Has everything a basic speaker stands has to have, they are lightweight and can (so far) support my Yamaha S115 Speakers well, though the stands wooble a bit.
I've had them for about 7 or 8 months now, and I've used them in an average of 15 to 20 times for about 2 - 3 hours per event. So far so good. I'm giving them a 6 because they came without (or maybe it fell in the first gig) a nut that holds the leg spread ajustment knob.
I got them on a special if I recall correctly, despite the deal with the knob and the nut, they still fulfill there function.

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

Only problem is the plastic piece to where the legs are mounted to. Seems that if stand falls on its side it may easily break rendering it useless. I know, this has happened to me once already but not with this brand. We'll see.

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

This is a good quality stick, with nicely attached other sticks. It doesn't do much - just act against the forces of gravity, holding a speaker at an elevated position.

Now that I have this one... I might need another for use on a different set of speakers - speakers project much better when at the proper height and you don't always want acoustic coupling with floors.

Sure - you could accomplish the same job with a half dozen milk crates, but this looks much more professional and is easier to carry. You just can't use it to haul mic cables and guitar pedals around in like a milk crate...

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

I have nothing bad to say about these stands. They work well, look normal, and were CHEAP! You will be hard pressed to find any stands at this great of a deal.
It's cheap and is exactly as stated. I have used them both for speakers and lights.
So far so good. It's like everything a musician gets - treat it well and it will last you forever. You probably shouldn't put your car up on a set of these, but I can't imagine with proper care that they will cause any problems.
I happened to show up on black Friday. Totally worth it - worth it at the regular price too.

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

I have had mine for around 6-8 months now. I use them 3 times a week and they are great---and light. The knob should not be tightened too much ever. One of the nuts came of the leg but I just tightened back on, so if you own these you may want to check them every so often.

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

For the low cost of this stand, I was expecting something flimsy, thin, and lightweight, perhaps more like a glorified music stand built to hold a small PA amp. Much to my surprise, this stand is made of pretty heavy gauge metal and does not convey flimsiness at all. Rather it is quite solid. For my intentions, it proved to be too bulky, but that is not a fault of the item imho, but just of my expectations. I have a small 18 pound PA amp which I bought this for and I can attest to that it will support something far heavier. I think it is made quite well and performs the function for which it was designed very well. I can only recommend it.

Comments about Musician's Gear Standard Speaker Stand:

I ordered these a couple weeks ago , they arived in 2 days . I was excited when they arived , so I tried them out on every speaker I own . The M.A.'s they were purchaced to hold only weigh about 35 Lb. and were rock steady at full extention , so I tried a set of peavey 12"w/horn , they were too tall for the kitchen so I had to adjust down one notch , still rock steady at that height and about 55 Lb. Moving the test to the living room for added vertical space I was able to place my JBL 15's (heavier than a dead preacher)at over 95 Lb. each on top and I think they will hold up just fine as long as the only thing you use the plastic tightener knobs for is to keep the speaker from turning on the stand. Can't beet the price at under $20.

Be Very careful tighten the couplings. If you over tighen them, they will break easy. I had one break and did not overtighten it. These are a more cheaper line of stand. They work ok but there are better quality stands available.
