Features:

Folds up quite compactly.

Quality:

Nicely finished satin black.   Moving parts operate smoothly

Value:

These stands don't look cheap.

Overall:

I will use them in live recording situations to support "pencil" condensor mics and they will not be subjected to rough and tumble gig use.  I believe they should hold up very well.

Fixed Boom Mic Stands

| Review By: dettenator | 1 week, 6 days ago

Features:

Ok, I have left a review before whan I first got these, for an update, i have had them a little over a year, I use them every week for myself and a background singer, they are broken down and transported after each use and I have not found any problems as of yet that would make me not purchase them again, matter of fact I am getting 2 overheads in a couple of weeks.

I do find that the more they are used the more you have to tighten the boom connection to the verticle support, they just twist loose.

As for the fixed boom for those that don't know, there are tlescopic booms that colapse into themselves, these simply are adjustable from the mount as to how far they stick out on both ends of the upright pole, the telescopic is only adjustable on the mic end and isn't slid through a vise type of mount.

There you have it.

Quality:

Not the best quality for profesional stage setups, but does the job very well.

I would rather lose or break one of these for the price than spend $100 on one and do the same.

If you are on a budget but are worried about it tipping over, go to the dollar store and get some ankle weights, Easy fix.

Value:

2 for $30 value is all it is.

Overall:

I have these, a friend has a $50 single boom, his is built much the same, maybe a little more metal than plastic, his falls over alot more than mine.

2x the mic stand at half the price you can't go wrong!

Unbeatable deal

Features:

These Tripod Mic Stands are the real deal -- a modern design that combines strength, stability, functionality, and light weight. I'm not sure what "Fixed Boom" is supposed to mean, but the boom can be removed from the vertical element, or it can be set to stay at any angle without the counterweight that old-fashioned boom stands required. The tripod system is much more stable and reliable than the old weighted circular weighted bases. And with the pricing I received for a pair of these stands, what's not to like?

A tip for situations where mic stands with different owners are mixed together: You can make your own equipment easy to identify from a distance with strips of bright colored tape in a unique pattern. My own marker is two strips of yellow electrician's tape around the mic stand at knee height, spaced a quarter-inch apart. I use the same ID around the carrying handles of amps, instrument stands, cases, and equipment boxes. It saves so much time when we're reloading our vans at the end of a gig.
