I have owned this 10-mic stand pack for the better part of a year and I have to say I'm still really liking it. All the mic stands came undamaged and were remarkably sturdy for the price. They are still made in China, so don't expect anything that is super-awesome by any means, but for how cheaply priced these units are they hold their own. I do mostly studio work, and I really baby my equipment regardless of how cheap or expensive it is, so I'm not so sure as to how these would hold up on the road for a touring/gigging musician. However, for studio they work quite nicely. I have some really heavy mics with steel shockmounts that these hold very securely.

There is no doubt in my mind that these are very cheaply constructed mic stands, and I've looked them over pretty thoroughly. Based on what I've seen, I would guess that these would not do well if constantly moved about and abused.

If you're a studio owner on a budget, a music enthusiast that just needs mic stands for practice, or if you think your hard-earned cash is better spent on more vital equipment, these are probably what you are looking for.

If you're a touring musician and you plan on using and abusing these constantly, I'd go with stands that are a bit more high-end (say Pro Co for example). There are a few reviews you may find that come before mine that give similar recommendations.

My only real gripe about these stands is that they don't come with any sort of storage case, so unless you have one that will fit all ten of these at home it may be a challenge to get them into and out of your vehicle if you ever need to move them. However, there is a variant of this product that has six mic stands and comes with a travel bag. It's just a good amount more money. Just something to be aware of.

To sum all this up - great for light usage and general purpose, and for the money I was greatly satisfied with my purchase. Never had a single issue with them.

Ok, these are SUPER CHEAP stands, bottom line. I bought them because I needed about 3-4 stands for home-recording use, and it was cheaper to buy 10 then it was 4. Although they are very cheaply made, they are well suited for typical guitar-cab, instrument micing and even practice vocals during jam/scratch sessions. I would NOT want to have to move these around to gigs, as they probably would not make it 2 months before the stand legs bent backwards and cause the stand to sit unlevel. but for general recording use, or permanent installations (i.e. church) I would recommend buying a 10-back (like tacos....), and keeping the others around for spares. Hard to beat eight bones per stand!

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom 10-Pack:

I purchased one of these 10 packs over 5 years ago, those stands are still working great.

I Purchased another 10-pack this year, and they are totally different and complete garbage. The knob at the boom strips from just looking at it funny and the threaded tip spins loose of the boom arm allowing your mic clip to spin round and round.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom 10-Pack:

Are these stands the heaviest stands made? No. They are however the best bang for your buck. If you want a heavy stand then look in a different price range but if you want some great stands that will get you by without burning a hole in your wallet then these are for you! I've been a working musician for 25 years and I have no problem with using these stands on a weekly basis. They get thrown around and constantly bumped by the local drunks forcing my mic right into my face but they take the bumps and are no worse for the wear. This is an unbeatable deal on a very decent set of stands, don't miss out.

only to be used to bear 1lbs items, not really more. The bolt break easily and for sure need replacement often, like after a yr or two of usage.

I can't see anything wrong with this deal. All 10 stands functions were right on. Can't see spending more money. I have same type stands more expensive that are no better. For general purpose miking, they are perfectly adequate. Heavy mics should be reserved for heavier stands.

Good deal, except that almost half of them have defective booms. The small knob to adjust the boom just doesn't screw in well, or at all, probably bad drilling and bad quality control.

Musician's Friend is allowing me to exchange them, but that's going to be a hassle and probably not worth the shipping cost. Do yourself a favor, get something better made.
