2x the mic stand at half the price you can't go wrong!
Ok, I have left a review before whan I first got these, for an update, i have had them a little over a year, I use them every week for myself and a background singer, they are broken down and transported after each use and I have not found any problems as of yet that would make me not purchase them again, matter of fact I am getting 2 overheads in a couple of weeks.
I do find that the more they are used the more you have to tighten the boom connection to the verticle support, they just twist loose.
As for the fixed boom for those that don't know, there are tlescopic booms that colapse into themselves, these simply are adjustable from the mount as to how far they stick out on both ends of the upright pole, the telescopic is only adjustable on the mic end and isn't slid through a vise type of mount.
There you have it.
Not the best quality for profesional stage setups, but does the job very well.
I would rather lose or break one of these for the price than spend $100 on one and do the same.
If you are on a budget but are worried about it tipping over, go to the dollar store and get some ankle weights, Easy fix.
2 for $30 value is all it is.

I have four of them that I use in my studio and for gigs. I've had them for a little over three years. For the most part they've held up pretty well for a low budget boom stand. You have to treat them with kid gloves, though. They will break easily. My biggest problem with them is the the threaded end where you connect the mic clip can become loose from the boom and just spins inside the tube. The way I fixed this problem is I welded the threaded end to the tube. These stand work great if you are in a pinch. Just be ready to fix them if you take them on the road with you.

Fast shipping and a very fine product. Very easy to raise and lower.
I got tired of carrying my old heavy base mike stands. These Tripod stands are great! Well made and easy to use. Fold up small and fit in my speaker stand case. I love these stands!

i bought this two pack mic boom stands for mic ing my drums, i planned to use them for cymbol mics, and they'd work fine for that. but im using them for backing vocals so far. they are not super heavy duty but they are plenty sturdy for most applications... for the price they are awesome.just dont over tighten them. but that appies to all musical stands from my experience

Great tripod mic stand for the price

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

Good quality for the price. I wanted a couple of inexpensive stands for small gigs and chose these. Very happy with the quality. I am sure these will last with just a little bit of care. I use a Shure SM-58 mic, which is a fairly heavy mic, and the stand is very balanced when in use. The boom is easily adjusted as is the vertical height. I recommend these to anyone looking for an inexpensive stand.

mic threads come loose from tube not a hard fix but screw assembly wears very quickly from breaking done often and plastic nut does not give much leverage to compensate bought six pack used less than a year and am replacing most. If they are going to stay in one place they may be ok if gigging stay away

        very versatile mic stands

        By Adrian Caldera

        from Piedras Negras, Mexico

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

These mic stands work perfectly for what we needed in our rock/metal band; the bass player and myself (guitar player) sing while we play, so we needed a mic stand that wouldn't interfere in any way with our playing; metal is about attitude, so we tend to move a lot, and this stand together with the fixed boom gives us that freedom of movement. It's very lightweight and feels kind of fragile, but hey, it's supposed to be standing still while you sing, not intended for rough use and abuse. If you're on a budget and in need of a versatile mic stand, this is the one for you.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

I bought a 4 pack of these back in 2005. I am down to just 2 left but they have outlasted my hercules stand by 2 yrs. Same use and abuse. Here are some helpful ides to extend or prolong the life of these stands. First the worst part is the cheap pot metal that the boom stand mount is made of. strips easily right. Quick fix: Teflon tape on the threads will help increase friction. Also try to not take them apart to often. You can also just bond the 2 togehter with a loctite or similiar adhesive. That is my prefered method!

        Only for the desperate.

        By Reed Reynolds

        from California

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

It's a shame that so many quality stands are expensive these days. I was really hoping this would work out. Unfortunately it has not been worth the savings. The leg hinges are incredibly cheap and difficult to use. They require quite an extreme amount of tightening to lock them into place, and since they are low grade material SOME OF THE ALLEN WRENCH SOCKETS HAVE STRIPPED. I have never in my life stripped an allen wrench socket and did not think it was possible until using this stand.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom (2-Pack):

I will use them in live recording situations to support "pencil" condensor mics and they will not be subjected to rough and tumble gig use. I believe they should hold up very well.
        Folds up quite compactly.
Nicely finished satin black. Moving parts operate smoothly
        These stands don't look cheap.

These are pretty decent stands. I use them at my music school and occasionally for gigs. **Trick**. Take the screw on the boom off and coat it with WD-40. It makes the stand operation much smoother and believe or not, it doesn't drift now. Overall a good buy if you need some stands.

These are light duty. MF does not hide that. Allowing these in the hands of other band members can strip the plastic threads if they don't treat them with care.

If they do, you have a stand that will give you good service for the occasional gig. I would not use them with a touring band.
