I've had a set of 5 of these for over 10 years and gig out with them regularly a couple of times a month. I recently had my first issue with one of the cords crackling during a sound check. It's now been relegated to the fix me if you can pile. I'd say that with 100+ gigs under my belt with these cords I've gotten my monies worth. Reading some of the other reviews of poor quality/durability I'd have to disagree. I don't know their situation but theres always those musicians out there who are hard on their equipment and nothing will outlast the mistreatment. Personally I always roll my cords up using the "roadie wrap" method so they don't tangle or bind and end up looking like spaghetti soup in some gig tub. If you take care of these mic cords you won't be disappointed, plus you'll save some cash for other toys in the long run.

I've been using some of these so a long time. Seems the newer ones with the blue ends are better than the older versions with grey ends.
Don't trust these cable to make a good seal on the mic. They clip in fine but they seem to not grip the poles.

I will be relacing them with better cables.
Don't use when doing live sound. I had one bad experience so far with one of them not having a good connection and I wasn't able to replace it during the show. I was bumming.
Hope it helps!

Worthless

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

Bought two of these cables and they had bad connections from the beginning. The connectors on both ends were shot and short out. Not worth your money or time.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

Nice lo-z cable. Easy to tell which is mine because of the tweed cover. I would get a different color for each mixer channel. Easy to track mic to mixer that way.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

I have purchased 4 of these cables in recent months, returned 1 and thrown 3 of them away. The problem with returning the cable is they want to send you a replacement! So you get more undependable cables. I am a weekend musician so I'm not even out on the road where stuff gets banged around. These cables are not well made and work only intermittently. Save your money and buy a decent cable.

Don't buy them unless you know you can repair or reinforce them
It's hit or miss with these cords. Sometimes their great but there are others that are already weakly connected and the cut out. Wouldn't recommend them for that reason.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

I have expensive cords that do not sound any better than these.
I guess I must have been the only lucky person who bought two of these and they still work after 2 years of gigging.
No problems, seem very sturdy on the ones that I own at least.
Works for me.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

I recently ordered 4 new ones of these to replace a few that are starting to go bad internally after 8-10 years of use. We use them in gig situations probably 25 or 30 times a year. They have held up well over the years and even now the exteriors look like new - but nothing lasts forever. Still I am happy with the use we have gotten and the reasonable price, so I ordered more.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

I bought a half dozen of these cables because they were cheap. They have provided fairly reliable service in the studio and on stage for about three years. However, they are poor quality, and I've had a couple cables go bad due to the inferior connections they make to the mike and the mixing board. I am a stickler for tools and equipment that are designed well and manufactured with quality ensurance; these don't meet those standards, and I am replacing them as they lose their function. The best thing about these cables is the woven tweed cable housing: I play a lot of places with floors that haven't seen a mop in a decade, and cables that have a rubber housing pick up the grime; the tweed stays fairly clean as dirt doesn't adhere to it very much. That's the only good thing I can say about these cables.

I have been using these for 10 years now. Probably time to buy some new ones. I have not noticed any degradation in the signal quality, but I'm not doing any highly technical work. Best thing is that I'm the only one in my circle of musician friends using them so they never get mixed in with other folks cables.

Comments about Musician's Gear Tweed Lo-Z Woven XLR Mic Cable:

I don't care what anyone says, I've been using these cables since they first came out as "Musicians Friend Deluxe Tweed XLR Cables" back in 2004.

Not one of them has failed and I use them as my main cable. The black rubberized cables have come and gone, connectors shorted, crackles develop. Not on these. Solid Neutrix connectors and durable tweed wrap. These do not tangle! Therefore they do not bend or crimp the wires!

A solid non-bending cable with solid connectors. There's nothing more you can ask for. It fits all mics. I rave about them every chance I get. The end.

You purchase a new cable to get rid of the problems caused by the old cable... the old one works better than the new....
First Mic cable I purchased that doesn't hook into a Shure M58..
Not going to buy another one....
Does not work on the world's most popular microphone by Shure?
If it don't work it ain't worh a cent.

I would buy them again. I think they have equal sound quality when compared to more expensive cords that I own.
