Received this product in protective shipping material...one screw was missing from the pull out keyboard tray rail system...luckily I found the screw within the shipping materials. One Z shaped leg was missing the metal tab to mount the wood work surface, but this did not seem to be a problem, as the weight of the work surface kept the unit solid. Z shaped legs are a bit skewed and don't align with the wood perfectly, but overall assembly was do-able. Just an average product that I will find useful. Nice but slightly flawed.

The surface has about a half dozen large scratches on it, the front facing edge has a 2" area where the wood isn't flat (wood looks damaged then the laminate was put on top of it), & there's a mark about the size of a peanut right on top where the laminate is ripped. This is the 2nd one we purchased, sent the first one back due to damage & poor construction. Bought another only because it came down in price.

        Comments about Musician's Gear Workstation:

This was perhaps the worst piece of do-it-yourself furniture I've ever had to deal with. I've been buying and assembling furniture for decades. It's not worth the money or the effort. Don't buy it. MF should be ashamed of themselves for selling it.

The attachments were shoddy the screws and fittings were very poor quality. The surface is covered with the cheapest sort of contact paper that is marred and scratched just from un packing and putting the thing together. The particle board is of the worst kind and twice as heavy as it should be. The sliding drawer assembly is unbelievably bad. I had to leave it off.

I shudder to think what the normal heat, that is generated by any type of analog studio equipment, would do it.

            Comments about Musician's Gear Workstation:

I saw a lot of negative comments about this product from other customers but for the price it fills my needs. It arrived in good condition and I found the assembly to be reasonably simple. The directions could have been more detailed but I had no problems with assembly. The surfaces are vinyl over particle board but it is functional.

            Comments about Musician's Gear Workstation:

This thing is crazy difficult to assemble. The holes are drilled out of alignment, so if you buy one of these make sure you have a drill available. Surfaces are too high for any computer application. I modified it like crazy to make it work, but it took a tremendous amount of time. Some surfaces arrived scratched due to inadequate packaging. I absolutely would not buy this again.

Great bargain for the price. Perfect size . A little hefty. But very sturdy and a real pleasure just to look at. Assembling the workstation wasn't difficult except for a couple wayward nuts in the prerouted sockets got a little miss-aligned for the insertion of the screws. Just had to jimmy in the hex key and straighten it out. Otherwise, the woods not bad. The finish is great. Really happy with my purchase!

Came with incomplete parts and some scratches on the desk surface. I was unable to screw the sliding keyboard tray together. So I kept the desk but just don't have the pull-out keyboard tray. For one hundred it's whatever. But that doesn't change the fact that this company is selling something they don't actually provide.

                  Comments about Musician's Gear Workstation:

Let's start with the instructions. Very confusing and pictures are not helpful at all. It took me 2 hours to assemble this unit, considering the mistake after mistake I made because of the instructions being so vague. Once together though, I find that this recording desk is highly functional and pretty sturdy, not that I would stand on it or anything but all in all strong. The only slight critique on the quality is that the laminate is bubbled a bit in spots and could be a future issue/ concern. All in all not terrible for the price.

The pre-drilled holes did not line up; screws & nuts were hard to align; the ball bearing in the keyboard tray rolled right out of the keyboard assembly. We boxed it up & took it right back to the store.

Main desk surface arrived with dented corner - steel mounting tabs bent (one even broke right off - it's weld was rusted and incomplete. Holes in the surfaces don't line up- plan on drilling pilot holes.
I had to wait to get this on back-order, and I can't imagine the hassle it would be to package for return, otherwise I would.
