I got into fingerpicks when I bought my National Radiotone, 12 years ago. I just love the way they "dig into" the string. Before that it was all fingernails, as I played nylon string, exclusively, when I wasn't on the electric. At the time, I bought set of a generic National fingerpicks, which served me really well. But I've just checked out these classics and have to say that they are absolutely fantastic. On both the reso and my Martin OM-21. The articulation is so much more precise. I love them. Don't worry about breaking strings with 'em. Just get the touch and you'll be set. Great, great set of fingerpicks, people!

I do a lot of finger picking, thumb picking, and regular pick picking; also play piano quite well. What I'm saying is I got great finger dexterity. I thought these would be a great way to get a more metallic sound when finger picking. And they do do that. But I gotta tell you I think it's a lot easier to use bright brass strings and finger pick without worrying out these picks "grabbing". If you're trained on them, I'm sure they're great. And it's not too hard to use them. Just seems like way too much fuss to get 'em right.

Comments about National Picks Nickel Silver Finger Picks 4-Pack:
I bought this as a gift for my husband to go along with his new banjo I bought for him for Christmas. These picks had the best review for newbie's so that's what I got. He liked these A LOT better than the plastic Fender picks that came with the Banjo!! I can't say if it improved the sound because he is new so we aren't really sure he just knows they felt better on his fingers
Pros
- Very Metallic Tone

Comments about National Picks Nickel Silver Finger Picks 4-Pack:
I am just a beginner banjo player so you'll probably be hearing more from me. The delivery was extremely quick and my customer service gal was great. Thank you! I need to practice more! The picks are alot better than the plastic ones I ordered previously. I have recommended MF to a guitar player I know.

Comments about National Picks Nickel Silver Finger Picks 4-Pack:
I am happy with the fingerpicks; my problem is that I don't know how to wear or how to use them! I have read the reviews, and a gentleman wrote that we might be wearing them upside down and that the picks can be adjusted with needle nose plyers, but it does not matter how I wear them, I still am unable to use them. Maybe I should adjust them as he says, but I am afraid to damage them and not being able to use them at all. I might need to find someone who uses them to see what I am doing wrong. As for the packaging and delivery time, I find both excellent. This is my first purchase from Musiciansfriend.com and for sure I will return for purchases in the future and I will also recommend this store to all my friends and acquaintances. Thank you, Musician's Friends! You get FIVE stars from me!

Very poor shipping. Package would have arrived sooner by poney express.
Complaint to shipper.... a waste of my time, unresponsive. They basicaly said, oh well, thats the way it works.... I said if you want to keep customers change the process.
Jez, I got a new banjo from NY that had a shipping weight of 33 lbs in 3 days after the hurricane, this little package of a few ounces took 9 days from shipping date to me.... total distance - 230 miles. Unless they change shipping method, I'll never purchase again...... 26 miles/day... yea, poney express would have been a lot faster!

Comments about National Picks Nickel Silver Finger Picks 4-Pack:
I use these for Delta and Piedmont style country, blues fingerpickng in the style of Rev. Gar Davis, Lightin Hopkins, and Willie McTell etc.. They are not too heavy, but ellicit a nice clear metalic tone. They have a single band that wraps your finger with small holes. Sometimes I opt for a heavier style pick depending on the tone I want to acheive which is a very personal thing; but these are very comfortable and functional, so I use these most often. They stay on snuggly and don't hurt your fingers. They offer nice tone and heck, They're Nationals so you got a name you can trust.
