I've had this stand for a few weeks now and the stability and tightness of the stand are great. I also have an Ultimate Support mic stand that doesn't tighten down enough and can be a little flimsy, not so with this On-Stage stand. My church also has a bunch of On-Stage mic stands that have held up pretty well for 3-4 years now and that's with a lot of people not always treating them the greatest (i.e. not untightening the boom before adjusting it). I bought mine on sale which made it an even better deal as well!

Purchased 2 of these from MF on Sale. First time to use, A band mate said look the Boom is drooping. Looking at the Boom Clutch bolt and the threaded Nut / with the T bond handles, The Bolt threads and the bolt Look like wrong sizes to screw together. Very sloppy threading of the bolt and Nut. Rather then send them back, I went to the hardware store and purchased a New Bolt and mating "thread all" nut. This like a 5/16" diameter nut that is about 1" long. Drill a 3/16" hole near one end and put the T bone handle in cross ways. It will not fail ever again. Of course you need a Drill, Vise and Metal drill bits to fabricate this. I guess after adding 20 minutes of work and about $1.50 in new parts buying the stand for its price is still a good deal.

Comments about On-Stage Stands 72010 Tripod Mic Stand with Boom:

These are cheap and they work.
      Not durable for constant adjustment.
      Setting do not hold tight.
      Cannot hold up heavier mic's
This stand has been religated to holding a room mic in our main room.
But it freed up a better stand to do something else. :)

I've read some negative reviews about this type of mic stand. I've got 4 of them, and they all work very well. They are very easy to adjust, and they hold the mics securely. What else would someone expect from them?

I was happy with the price. However the stand is light at the bottom and wants to fall over and with the mic. it seems to fall down on the piano.

Comments about On-Stage Stands 72010 Tripod Mic Stand with Boom:

Works well for SM57/58 style mics. Seems to droop some with the heavier condensers. A spacer or 2 should stabilize it. Good stand for the money. Much better than the other lower price boom stand that strips out very easy.

Comments about On-Stage Stands 72010 Tripod Mic Stand with Boom:

With the boom extended, they are not very secure. Easily overbalanced. They are also too heavy. They are okay for what they are, but need care and attention to keep from damage. I like a lighter stand - especially the boom section - that doesn't overbalance.

I was looking through the reviews and I was kind of iffy on getting one but I decided to get one because the price caught my eye! so I use it for singing and saxophone. it is stable and holds my SM57 in place. it is not wobbly and it is just right what I needed.

Comments about On-Stage Stands 72010 Tripod Mic Stand with Boom:

I bought this stand in October 2011 and used it a dozen times. When I went to use it most recently, the height could no longer be adjusted on the stand. It kept falling down when I tried to raise it. When I called Musician's Friend about the problem, the rep told me "I guess it could be a case of you get what you pay for, it was a cheaper stand". It sounded to me like Musician's Friend does not think it is a good product, and I agree.
