Bought this wanting to avoid the "x" design of most of the other stands because I think they flex too much. This absolutely solves that problem. It's obviously heavier, but not too heavy to deal with. Here is a tip: instead of using the foam pads that stick to your keyboard to keep it from sliding, get some of the dense foam water pipe insulation from the hardware store. It slips right over the support arms and your gear won't slide at all.

PROS: I am tall and play standing up, and the lower tier is high enough to play comfortably. 2nd tier is adjustable and sturdy. Hold bigger keyboards easily without obstruction (Kronos, Jupiter-80, PolyEvlover, etc.)
CONS: Long set-up and tear down. Far too many screws and knobs to lose. Knobs are flimsy. Worst design I've encountered for ANY music gear as far as mobility/transportation/modularity- Very bulky, and even when broken into several parts it does not pack nicely into any space (van, car, trunk, storage space).
BOTTOM LINE: It is big and sturdy, but very bulky and awkward (even when broken down). This is great for a permanent installation such as a home studio, but a gigging keyboard player's nightmare. If you are looking for a stand to gig with, look elsewhere.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

This stand rock solid. Unfortunately, a nightmare to tear set up and tear down. Even the drummer will be done loading before you figure out how to compact this thing down as shown. Best left at home.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

While the stand does collapse down into a fairly compact form, it requires complete disassembly in order to do so. For me it's easy enough to take it apart into the two legs and the two cross pieces. Being over 6ft tall it's always a challenge to find a stand that adjusts high enough for comfortable playing while standing. This stand does that and I was happy to sacrifice the portability to get the height I needed at a price I could afford.

the bottom legs should be extended out the back a least 6" because the stand tips over easy backwards with 2 keyboards on it.

    Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

This is so easy to set-up a five year old could do it. It literally took me about 5 minutes to set-up (if that) right out of the box. Tear-down and set-up is a breeze. It's strong, stable and it looks nice. What more could you ask for?

Easy to set-up, takes about 5 minutes at most. Easy to adjust for any size keyboards. Strong as an ox. I can sit or stand depending on the venue and never have to think about the stability of my keyboards. Easy to brake down and set-up. What more could anybody ask for!

This stand is great for getting 2 keyboards exactly where you want them. It is much more sturdy that other stands I've tried. Works really well if using a foot controller beneath.

          Comments about On-Stage Stands Folding Heavy-Duty Dual-Tier Z Stand:

This keyboard stand is great once it is set up... But if you set up and tear down a lot it becomes very tedious. Based on the design of the knobs, this product ends up sticking out no matter how it is loaded when traveling.

It is a very stable stand, but makes life for the gigging musician quite cumbersome. I replaced it with 2 nice double braced X-stands which combined cost 2/3rds as much and I couldn't be happier.
