Even tho' it's not exceptionally sturdy, it would take quite a breeze to blow this stand over. The guitar hangs from the top instead of merely leaning against the top rest. This greatly reduces the changes of the guitar falling out of the stand. After 38 years of "playing out", I've learned what works for me. "Hanging" stands are far superior to "leaning" stands. If handled properly, it should protect the instrument for decades, or until the foam cushions give up. I've bought 3 and will buy more as the need arises. JKM, aka MrCurator

Compact-check. Light weight-check. Protects guitar finish-check. Durable-aaaaaaa! I bought 5 and 3 failed after limited use. Grip mechanism ceases to grip, screw just turns without gripping. I wrapped gaff tape around top shaft for now, plan to thread top shaft and use longer screws. A little more effort could have resulted in a great product.

just purchased and and used for first time. Very happy with this stand. One review said it was hard to put guitar on. Not at all the case. Bought two stands off a fb deal. I have four guitars all together so will purchase two more. Thanks MF

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS-7155 Hang-it Single Guitar Stand:

This stand SUCKS! Good reason why it is so much cheaper than its comparable competition.

#1 is NOT tall enough for basses - cannot believe they dont say that in the description
#2 Tightened it up as much as it will go and the weight of the guitar still causes it to collapse - sending my $2,000 custom Explorer to the stage - Thank you very much!

I have the Hercules Stands - far more expensive - but trust me VERY MUCH worth it!

I have other "On Stage" brand stands and they are fine - this one is just a cheap imitation designed to fool people like me away from the competition - Let me learn that lesson for you!

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS-7155 Hang-it Single Guitar Stand:

A number of my guitars have the cable jack on the bottom side of the body. Every time I put the guitar in a regular stand the guitar sits cocked to one side or lays on the 1/4" cable plug.
With this stand the guitar hangs from the neck
which allows the cable to hang free.
So I don't worry that the guitar will fall to the side or break the cable or the jack.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS-7155 Hang-it Single Guitar Stand:

I was immediately disappoint with the construction of this stand as soon as I opened the package. While it is perfectly functional, the whole unit feels 'loose' and a bit wobbly. I do not recommend for use in any live situation as it isn't stable enough. Unless you're on a tight budget, or only play in your bedroom/house, spend a few more and get a sturdier stand.

Listen it's not a Hercules stand but for $12.0 it's really not too bad. If you take it out to gig every weekend it will break but for your home you can't beat it for the money

Not super heavy duty, but nice stand.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS-7155 Hang-it Single Guitar Stand:

I got this stand and think it?s pretty cool, especially for the price. I hate those other type that hold the guitar from the bottom, as that part of the stand always catches the guitar cord when moving around in the studio; drives me nut. I?m going to get another, because I use this gigging now and it typically gets left in the band trailer, and I have to deal with the other type at home. What people need to learn, even with good stuff let alone cheap stuff, is to resist the natural tendency over tighten things. Oh, and I use it for a five-string Jazz bass, and the neck (very wide) fits snugly, and all I have to do it give it a slight twist and it?s free.
