These are very practical stands, and especially efficient when performing.

The two legs that comprise the base are long and large enough to securely support most, if not all, guitars, and the top of the "A" tall enough for the back of the guitar to be supported. This, and the fact there are no encumbrances, makes lifting a guitar out of the stand or placing it back easy. I was originally cautioned about using a stand with a support for the instrument's neck, but in my experience, these extensions were more trouble than they were worth and, if the neck or one's hand caught an edge of the rubber "clip" meant to keep the instrument more securely in place, the whole stand would fall forward. On the double-instrument version, the whole stand fell to the side, carrying an expensive guitar along with it, crashing to the ground (the audience literally held their collective breath until it was obvious the guitar was ok). That's when I switched to the A-frame and have never looked back. This stand has worked well with classical and flattop guitars, a Strat-styled electric and a Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion III, even an authentic 1980's D'Aquisto "Jazz" archtop.

My one question that remains unanswered is what, if any, effect or chemical reaction might be caused by the rubber protection when leaving an instrument in a stand over time?

These stands are straightforward, strong, easy to pack up and take on the road and, thus far, unquestionably reliable.

I bought 8 of these stands because I have acoustics, solidbodies, and thinline & deep-dish archtops. The notches in the arms work well for all my guitars, even my V! The glue is cheap though & the foam rubber will fall off. So you glue it back, no biggie. It really is a decent little guitar stand though. The product description states that the 'patented multi-tiered design' accomodates combo amps. It doesn't say that the 10-degree slant doesn't tilt your amp back enough to keep it stable. It WILL tip forward and fall off the freakin stand upon the slightest nudge, bump, or tug from your instrument cable plugged into the amp's input jack. It happened to me when a tube amp tipped forward & my lil baby hasn't been right since (clean channel volume is stuck on 10. Not good.).So - it's a good price for a decent GUITAR stand. Don't put ANY other equipment on it unless you're trying to test how rugged it is when it smashes on the floor. Because that's what it will do.

Whatever happened to the older A-frame # 1333271?

By guitarguy123

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7462B Professional A-FRAME Stand:

This On-Stage A-Frame stand GS7462B (as well as another current On-Stage A-Frame without a model#) is described as having a 10-degree tilt-back angle, but the tubing itself is already angled back at 20 degrees. Add to that the cradle (holding the bottom of the guitar), which protrudes quite a bit from the frame, and as a result the guitar ends up leaning back pretty heavily, more than in On-Stage's older model # 1333271 (why don't they make that one anymore? I liked it much better). Certain guitars may be a bit unstable in the cradle, slide around in it, or even tend to slide out FROM it, because of the heavy reclining position. The current A-frames are also much bulkier and clunkier, leaving me a bit dissatisfied overall. I wish they would bring back the older version.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7462B Professional A-FRAME Stand:

I have a Les Paul and because it's so heavy, I was concerned about using a traditional stand where the guitar hangs by the neck. This is perfect.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7462B Professional A-FRAME Stand:

I purchased this stand for my acoustic bass. It holds the acoustic and my electric basses without a problem. Going to order a couple more to use in my music room for my other instruments and when friends are here to jam.

      Solid Little Stand

      By Matthew Campbell

      from Houston, Tx

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7462B Professional A-FRAME Stand:

It's a great, solid low profile stand. I like it because it doesn't take up much room and does a great job at its simple task.
I use it for an acoustic, but the little divot in the arms works well for an electric, too.
Feels solid, sturdy and well built.

This is a quality, well built stand. First used one while playing in a church band. My old stand did not support my bass securily, and would occasionally let it slip. This one holds both my bass and my 12 string securly.

It is awkward enough to change guitars in the middle of a song, but when my stand came along with the guitar it made it worse. With the A-Frame, I do not have to worry about this.
