I bought several of these for acoustic guitar (dreadnought & small body) and banjo. They work great and are stable. I was a little worried about the close angle of the base. I've read the reviews that say the stand is unstable and easy to turn over. These are obviously folks who haven't used the lightweight tripod/tubular or a frame stands. This stand is so much more stable...I'm sitting right beside two dreadnoughts, one in a fretrest tubular, the other in my new pro-flip it. There is no comparison. This stand is so much more stable...I can barely push the fretrest (typical cheap tubular/tripod) and it starts at an angle. The pro-flip it stand just sits there really stable. If this stand isn't stable enough for your application, you should get a rack or keep it in the case, or choose more considerate bandmates or somthing. Any force that would turn this stand over would damage your guitar in a sturdier stand.

Only drawbacks to this stand are that it's fairly heavy, and it can bang your guitar up if you're not carefull pulling it out of the stand (hard edges without padding a few inches behind the instrument) but that just requires a more careful removal habit...don't yank the instrument out sideways or you'll see what I mean. Also...it's a little ugly without the instrument in it.

Overall: very stable for it's size and very functional for acoustic guitars and banjo. Maybe not a good idea for death metal stages.

I just recieved one of these from Musicians Friend. After reading the reviews it seemed like this might be a better stand than I've had in the past. It's working O.K. in my home studio but I do see some flaws in this design. First the little spring that flips up so you can put your guitar in is cheap. It barely has any tension on it new so I'm not sure how long that will last. The second more important flaw I see is the leg stance. The legs do not spread very far apart. They need to be wider and the feet a bit longer for stability and the legs don't lock in place. Any bump on the legs at all from the sides and this stand will fold up and down your baby will go. Good idea but someone needed to think about stability a bit more. I will use this in my home studio. Live...no way!

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

Found this stand to hold my new guitar (dreadnought) safe and secure. If required it's portable. It's heavier than other stands, but that makes it secure. Great value for this stand.

I wish I had found this originally! I purchased a less expensive tube type stand on line and was fully dissatisfied. I found this one and it is fantastic! It has two strong feet and holds electric or acoustic easily. The top has a spring loaded guard to hold and protect the neck! It's easy and compact for travel and quick set up, but mainly to secure your instrument when not in use. I recommended this to every guitar player I know!

This guitar stand is cool for the money not to bad. The only thing I don't like is the bottom 2 leg are to close together u cannot spread them out more! I bought this guitar stands for my new IBANEZ Jem77p, guitar which I also got from musician friends.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

I'm replacing all of my cheap, flimsy, and unstable tubular stands with Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stands. I like the stability of both the a-frame, and the secure neck holder. The stands folds down compactly, making travel and storage much easier, especially if you're hauling a bunch of band equipment and are short on space. I also like that there are no parts to lose in the dark recesses of my trunk or during pack up after a gig or session.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

The stand is substantially built, and is easily assembled and set up. While the feet are a little bit misaligned (which I could fix), and could stand to be a little farther apart, it suits my purposes--to hold my jazz bass (I haven't tried an acoustic guitar in it). Seems well worth the money to me.

This stand replaces my Hercules, which replaced some of the plastic parts of their stands with a type of foam rubber that deteriorates into soggy, gluey pads that literally stick to your hands and leave glue on them.

I've had A-frame type stands in the past but never with a neck holder built in.

I like the A-frame because you don't have to worry about the U-nose falling off and getting lost.

Now I feel a lot more secure in knowing the ax is being held at the neck as well. Once you get used to the clip it's easy to remove the guitar from the stand.

This unit is well built. The neck holder is a little flimsy with the spring as others have mentioned. I like how it flips up as opposed to the tubular stands that flip down. I would have like to have the legs spread out maybe and inch or two more for increased stability.

I took off the rubber feet and filled the tubes with sand for increased weight. All in all I dont think there is a more stable stand out there. This is what you need out in a gig situation since it is much more stable than the tubular stands.

I use it with a square neck resonator guitar and the part that holds the neck is just big enough for it.
