Honestly, (except for the width of the yoke)I can't think of a thing I would have done differently if I had spec'd it myself. If you own a guitar or bass with a "normal" neck (I'm using mine for an Ashbory Bass), you can't go wrong. The fact that it is designed to work with short or long instruments is great for the Ashbory. It would have gotten a "10" if my 7-string Conklin GT-7 neck fit the yoke.
This stand uses leverage instead of a rack and pinion to close its clamps around the neck. It works smoothly, and allows a lighter instrument to hang and close properly. Warning: the yoke that holds the headstock is somewhat narrow, so a six string bass probably won't fit.
Very well built, smooth fit and finish. I was impressed with the smoothly-cut the ends of the vertical support rod. This is a small thing, but it shows the amount of care that went into the build process. Looks like it will last forever. There is padding at every spot where your instrument could contact the stand. You guitar will love it!
A little expensive for a hanging stand, but it's a deal compared to some of the "original" clamping stands. You won't be disapointed with the price-to-quality ratio of this stand.

I was a little disappointed in these stands. For the price they get the job done, but the yoke wobbles back and forth. The base of the stand seems to be very stable but the shaft and yoke wiggle back and forth when your removing or putting the guitar in. It doe not give me a strong since of security with my guitars. Also, as others have mentioned the yoke is very skinny. Do not buy this if your planning on putting a 12-string on it. The next time I am going to shell out the extra money and get the Hercules. It is well worth a little extra.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Hang-It ProGrip II Guitar Stand:

Holds a guitar securely- I wouldn't be hesitant to use in on stage.

Not good for a bass, though, as it has to be extended and the upper portion leans, not to mention the extra weight from the bass exacerbating the issue, but again, for guitar, it's completely stable and secure.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Hang-It ProGrip II Guitar Stand:

At the price I paid I bought two. Heavy (for a stand), stable, wide base, lots of padding, easy to use, well made. Never had one that hangs from the top before, so if the automatic clutching device holds up, it will be a bargin

Comments about On-Stage Stands Hang-It ProGrip II Guitar Stand:

I would not use this stand for a bass or other really heavy guitar.

I use it for my Yamaha silent classical guitar (very light) and my Rodriguez classical and it works very nicely. Looks good, grips neck securely, seems to be well constructed.

If it were a bit heavier duty it would be perfect. All in all a good value for the money. Getting it at a deep discount with free shipping made this an easy purchase.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Hang-It ProGrip II Guitar Stand:

I've owned many guitar stands over the years but this is by far the best I've used. I don't own any odd ball guitars with super wide necks or 6 string bass guitars, but I do own and perform with guitars, ukuleles and mandolins and this stand holds them perfectly.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Hang-It ProGrip II Guitar Stand:

I purchased the Hercules stand and the ProGrip products deliberately. The ProGrip was half the cost of the Hercules. The Hercules is made a little sturdier and the height adjustment slides a little easier, but that's not a big deal to me. If I can get the ProGrip for a good price I'd keep buying it. Very pleased with it. I look for ease of use, durability and price as a pro.

You couldn't ask more for a stand, it does the job and it does it good. You can securely fit your guitar with the piece of mind the padding offers. I shall note that it has a purple trim, something I didn't realize when purchasing it online. But luckily I have a JPX and it blends together perfectly. Solid building materials, it's all sturdy, portable, and strong. Get it!
