OVERVIEW

Clamps securely in place for extra space!

The sturdy On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On 2nd Tier lets you double your keyboard space without springing for another stand or a more elaborate system. Tilt adjustment helps you put your board right where you want it.

It can be inserted into most X-style keyboard stands with round or square tubing and uses a tightening knob with an internal-tubing mechanism to secure the 2nd tier. A midpoint clutch featuring 2 disks with 36 interlocking teeth allows the user to tilt the second tier to any position without worrying about slippage. The clutch is made with die-cast zinc for added strength.

The unit comes complete with a stabilizer bar that keeps the left and right tier members upright when it is properly assembled between the 2 members. And, because the stabilizer bar telescopes, the width of the entire 2nd tier unit adjusts with your stand.

The KSA7500 fits all On-Stage Stands X-Style Models as well as most name-brand keyboard stands.

The manufacturer made no effort to calibrate the notches on the right and left arms of the stand so that they would line up. As a result, the keyboard sits lower on one end than the other. Also, the stops at the ends of the arms, which are supposed to prevent the keyboard from sliding forward, are too short. The keyboard slides off the stand. Why didn't the manufacturer test the design before producing and selling these things?

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

Crossbar really makes this VERY stable. I wish it would adjust up and down. The angle adjust, but not the height above your lower keyboard. It's still a very good item for the price and I would recommend it. I bought two (one for home) and one for the studio and performance stand I use. It was very easy to add on to my stand.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

This tier is designed a universal setup. It may not fit or work for all keyboard players but it did for mine. There are 36 teeth on the adjustment wheel and I had no problem with correct angle. Although there is no adjustment for height it will work for most setups depending on type of keyboards. For me this was a good choice.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

Tried this as an add-in to a single X-type stand while on an extended trip away from home. The height above the primary keyboard is excessive and not adjustable. It basically renders the second keyboard unusable.

I have several other double keyboard stands that are much more ergonomic. It was obvious from the moment I set up this second tier that this solution was just not functional. I cannot recommend it.

I returned it immediately and enjoyed the great support that MF always renders.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

I'm using this to save space in a cramped home studio. Out of the box, it took me maybe ten minutes to completely assemble it, without any unexpected problems. Attached to my existing On-Stage stand, it's steady enough for studio work. Professional players looking for something to use in live performance might want to consider something made specifically for two keyboards, especially if using heavy boards.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

Bought this with reservation. Removal of the end caps on the original keyboard stand proved to be the most difficult part of assembly, but simplicity ruled.

Great addition to my little studio.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

I bought this to go with an On-Stage Stands platform stand, to add a MIDI controller above a Nord Stage 2 piano.

It's easy to set up and holds the upper keyboard securely. However, only the arm angle is adjustable - the height at the back is fixed relative to the lower stand, depth is non-adjustable, and width is determined entirely by the separation of the tubes you attach it to.

That said, it works great if the spacing it provides happens to match what you need.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

a couple of years ago I bought the on stage keyboard stand with a second tier add on, but now I needed a 3rd tier which apparently they didn't make for this stand, I found with a little modification to both the second tier add ones they make a perfect triple tier keyboard stand.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Keyboard X Stand Add On Tier:

I wanted to put a 61 key midi controller over my 88 key main keyboard. The add on tier sits 2"-4" too low to give the angle I want with a clear view / access to the bottom board. I ordered another brand with dual arms on both sides.
