Comments about On-Stage Stands M20 Speaker Cabinet Adapter:

This is a very sturdy piece of steel. You can use this "Top Hat" to replace the 1 3/8" smooth socket you get with most subs. This is threaded - most are not. When they are not threaded then the pole that fits into this socket actually has too much play in it. Extend the pole up about 3 feet and put a PA cab on top of it and it makes the Leaning Tower Of Pisa look straight. It the pole will flop all over the place and the speaker atop it will be all askew and look really stupid, like its about to fall over. Inserting this speaker pole mount allows you to use a threaded pole that screws into it so it doesn't wobble. Now, this mount DOES NOT WORK with the stock ElectroVoice ZXA1Sub, which has a THREE-HOLE mount with a smaller outer diameter than this one. The EV Sub's hole is recessed so this doesn't fit into it, but luckily it fits OVER it. You'll need to drill new holes and by bolts and T-Nuts. I wouldn't use the wood screws that this mount comes with - they may tear out of the wood if the PA Cab atop the pole is jossled. It was regardless very easy to install and all the screws and t-nuts are available at your local hardware store for a few $$. Works like a charm. I will buy more of these! Good product, good price and fast shipping!

Comments about On-Stage Stands M20 Speaker Cabinet Adapter:

I've just bought an M20 adapter for subwoofers... to use with the SS7747 adjustable pole... but it would have helped if On-Stage published the outside diameter in place of generic wording like "replaces existing 1-3/8" sockets." The actual outside diameter is approx. 4-5/16", too large to fit flush in the 4" routed area where my original socket fits (EV ZXA1-Sub). Also, the original is a three-screw arrangement with backing hardware, versus 4 simple wood screws with yours (this part, easily fixable). Grinding metal off the adapter or routing more area on the cab is too much work. FWIW, I've also recommended a better solution would be to change the design to an M20 threaded socket within (at the bottom of) a two-inch deep 1-3/4" socket, so the SS7747 pole is physically supported in two ways: pole itself, plus threaded reinforcement. I like the pole… but it's gonna be too much trouble to use it. If the existing socket had been recessed in a 4-5/6" mounting area on the sub, different story (although attaching with backing hardware would be better than simple wood screws).
