Comments about On-Stage Stands MY-570 Cable Clamp:

I've been using a small powered speaker mounted to a music stand, for my monitor at solo gigs. It weighs about 4 lbs, and it works well as a monitor if its within a few feet of the singer. So I'd been looking for some kind of clamp to enable mounting the speaker right on my mic stand, or part way up the boom. (Of course you can only do this with a stand having a secure tripod base, or some similar arrangement). Well this clamp looked perfect, but based on the photo I was concerned the metal might be too thin. Well its way stronger then it looks! The metal on the part where you'd mount or hang anything is just over .09" thick (2.4mm), and the part that clamps to the stand is thicker, about 0.125" (3.15mm) thick. Bottom line, it will hold my speaker easily. I have some doubts about the the end of the clamping screw though, which you can't see in the photo. As others have pointed out, there is some kind of hard rubber embedded in the screw at the tip. But I think an angled, padded piece of metal mounted to the screw end would have been better, at least in terms of lasting longer. That's just my gut feeling though... time will tell.

Comments about On-Stage Stands MY-570 Cable Clamp:

This is my second MY-570, purchased for backup. Drilled a hole in the vertical tang and moved the rubber pad (faces away in the photo) to the outside to make a clamp for mounting a half-rack space synth module to a music stand post. Works great.

Minor differences between 1st and 2nd purchases:
        1) Product photo shows old style "petal" knob. Latest bracket uses an oblong bar-style knob.
        2) End of the mounting bolt in the previous style bracket contains a vinyl inset to prevent marring whatever you clamp to. Insert is about 1/4" dia., and protrudes about 3/16." New style bolt has a round, shallower hard rubber insert that compresses less when the knob is tightened. Overall, it seems to be an improvement.

Both brackets work fine. Only mystery is the purpose of the rubber pad on the inside surface of the vertical tang.

Comments about On-Stage Stands MY-570 Cable Clamp:

Bought one of these several years ago and modified it to mount a half-rack space synth module to a music stand pole. In the latest bracket, they changed the knob from a round style to a "winged" style. Doesn't really affect functionality. Note there is a rubber insert in the end of the mounting bolt to prevent metal-on-metal damage when you torque it down on the music stand. The old style bolt had a substantial green inset, while the new style has a much smaller black nubber. No idea as to its durability or effectiveness.

Comments about On-Stage Stands MY-570 Cable Clamp:

I am only sorry I didn't think of using them sooner.
These babies are perfect for organizing my open mic guitar cables. Now instead of having cables all over the stage, now everyone hangs them on the MY 570's!
Very sturdy and well built. Even the rubber on the end of the screw is very substantial so you don't damage your mic stands.
After you use them a few times, you see what a great value they are.
