On-Stage Stands ON STAGE SSP7950 ALL ALUM SPKR STAND (PR)  

I have been using these stands for about two years from Gigs, to Block party's during the Summer months, I also rent out PA' systems to various bands here in New York City. As long as, you take care of them they will last. Use the little metal bars and you don't have to worry about the knobs breaking. I haven't compare them to any others, but their Great for the money. I take care of my equipment and I don't let anyone touch them either. If you want anything in life to last do the work yourself. See you pay for your stuff, you will appreciate it to take care of it. Trust me they work, and they are on sale now. Now the prices is even better, I just purchased another pair. By the way I work as a Purchasing Coordinator.

Broken knob on shipping, the rest is history. A change in packaging might be a good idea.

These stands are a great value and are everything I personally need except for the durability of the knobs and the lack of replacement parts. When the stands arrived they were damaged in shipping. One of the knobs was broken. I called MF and they said they would contact the company and have them send me another knob at no charge. The knobs arrived (they sent me two different ones) but neither one will fit these stands. So I went to companies website. To my surprise I found that they do not have a replacement part for this stand, in fact they don't show this stand anywhere on their site. I don't know if that is because it is new or an old clearance item they are not going to support or not. If I could get a new knob for this stand it would be just fine. But It is just a throw away item I guess. I wish I could have used it for a few gigs though before I had to throw it out. Musician's Friend of course has made everything all right with a refund and I did not have to pay shipping back. I will try something that has replaceable parts for my next stands.

I used these stands to hold up 2 Black Widows speaker cabinet @ 450 Watts @ 8 oms and these stands are worth the price. They are basic stands that will get the job done. They do come with safety pins which is a added feature. The thing that I do not like is that the carrying bag that is included. The bag doesn't seem to fit well and the shoulder straps snapped on the first day. The stands seem to dent easily as well--so if you operate an A/V company where different technician handle the geat in different ways--then you may want to shell out the extra dollars for a more expensive stand. The stands are great for the DJ who is just starting out(they are affordable and they do get the job done. But, I wouldn't recommend these to a hotel or convention center (where the presentation of the A/V equipment may be an issue.)I said that because the stand seem to dent and scratch easily.
