Mine arrived yesterday. I got it to set up my Alesis QS8 in the living room for my wife to play, and for that application it's great. It has good looking welds, nice powdercoat finish, reasonably heavy duty. However, I wouldn't use it to tour with because the width of the legs are only 14". I measured one of my other stands at 21", and that amount adds a lot to stability.I've done close to 2000 bar gigs in my life, and had my keyboard rig crashed by dozens of drunks. This stand would be easy to tip over, especially on some of the rickety stages I've played on. I would not recomend using this stand to gig with. But factor in the low price and quality construction, and it's a super bargin for your heavy 88 keys and home use.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago when they first came out. The top platform is expandable and locks to match the witdth of your keyboard. They use a heavy metal for the platform top and this makes it rather heavy. Kind of a pain to lug this baby around. If you are playing in a small coffee house or in tight quarters the legs going out to the sides can become a hazard and take up valuable stage space. I did have a musician or two complain about my keyboard stand. The biggest flaw is the legs are a pain to adjust so that its level because each one has to be adjusted seperately and over the years I have found the locking down mechanism of the legs to be not reliable. And when one gives out the keyboard can fall over. I actually had lost a leg when moving but luckily later found it. Also, I forgot to mention the platform top does not necessarily match up with the feet on the bottom of all keyboards this can be a problem cause your keyboard will not sit level. I would not recommend this stand to a friend and I a am a Musician's Friend friend haaa haaa!! I give this keyboard stand a C rating for gigs and a B- rating for home studio use.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Pro Platform Keyboard Stand:

Used this on a gig and was very pleased. Had it set up in less than a minute and was super fast taking down. Transporting is a breeze. Fits up right in a cart I have with wheels with my seat and music. Love it! Only consideration for others using Yamaha p-105 or keyboards with speakers on the bottom, make the stand smaller than you think you would. Anotherwords, don't extend the full length because that covered up speakers and made the sound softer and muffled. The stand was still incredibly sturdy with the length shortened and be speakers were exposed and the sound was perfect that way!!! So great!

Comments about On-Stage Stands Pro Platform Keyboard Stand:

We got bid and heavy Yamaha Clavinova full 88 key weighs 84 lbs and our economical dual X stand (used for two Casio) was barely supporting it. So I tried this one before our keyboard player got hurt.

It is very sturdy and rigid. That was my biggest concern before purchase. Yes, it will move if you shake it but in normal keyboard play, it is very solid. I placed Casio on top of Yamaha and no balance problems. Due to the space limitation on stage, I had to offset Yamaha position on the stand but no issues.

I added adhesive rubber sheet on the top. May need Level to set up especially on the uneven floor. Fine adjustment feature of each leg is also good.

Picked this stand to replace an aging 'x' stand that was inadequate for the support of our new electric keyboard donated to the church. More than satisfies our needs with a sturdy, adjustable foundation for the instrument.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Pro Platform Keyboard Stand:

Great stand - easy to set up right out of the box. I wish it were a touch wider to fit my 88-key keyboard. As it doesn't extend out that far, the keyboard is either slanted slightly with one set of rubber legs of the keyboard in the hole and slot on one side with the other set of legs on the stand not in the holes, or they're both outside of the width of the keyboard stand and then slides around a bit scratching up the bottom of the keyboard. I don't regret the purchase as the keyboard is only being used once a week in a Sunday School class at our church.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Pro Platform Keyboard Stand:

I purchased this stand after researching many of this type last year and I've been very happy with it. I like the height adjustment feature, and that it's very sturdy. I don't gig with it so I can't review how portable it is. I noticed in some other keyboard stand designs that the stand supports tend to obstruct the space my legs use while seated. Here the space below the keyboard is completely open.

I was so satisfied that I purchased a second exact stand last week to give as a gift to a musician friend. The only downside is that the stand is a tad pricey in my opinion. In fact, I was charged more for it the second time I purchased.
