Mine arrived yesterday. I got it to set up my Alesis QS8 in the living room for my wife to play, and for that application it's great. It has good looking welds, nice powdercoat finish, reasonably heavy duty. However, I wouldn't use it to tour with because the width of the legs are only 14". I measured one of my other stands at 21", and that amount adds a lot to stability.I've done close to 2000 bar gigs in my life, and had my keyboard rig crashed by dozens of drunks. This stand would be easy to tip over, especially on some of the rickety stages I've played on. I would not recomend using this stand to gig with. But factor in the low price and quality construction, and it's a super bargin for your heavy 88 keys and home use.

I bought one of these about 10 years ago when they first came out. The top platform is expandable and locks to match the witdth of your keyboard. They use a heavy metal for the platform top and this makes it rather heavy. Kind of a pain to lug this baby around. If you are playing in a small coffee house or in tight quarters the legs going out to the sides can become a hazard and take up valuable stage space. I did have a musician or two complain about my keyboard stand. The biggest flaw is the legs are a pain to adjust so that its level because each one has to be adjusted seperately and over the years I have found the locking down mechanism of the legs to be not reliable. And when one gives out the keyboard can fall over. I actually had lost a leg when moving but luckily later found it. Also, I forgot to mention the platform top does not necessarily match up with the feet on the bottom of all keyboards this can be a problem cause your keyboard will not sit level. I would not recommend this stand to a friend and I a am a Musician's Friend friend haaa haaa!! I give this keyboard stand a C rating for gigs and a B- rating for home studio use.

I bought this stand for my Roland 88 key RD700gx about 8 years ago. At the time the choices were limited. I would avoid this stand at all costs. I just ordered a more sturdy, portable solution.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Pro Platform Keyboard Stand:

I bought a vintage Rhodes that came without legs. The thing is so dang heavy I didn't trust my regular X stand with it, and Rhodes legs are super expensive (supply and demand I guess), so I went looking for a more affordable alternative, at least for the time being. I found this which is rated at over 200 lbs, and it seems to be working out fine. The top of it is a little narrower than I would ideally like for the fat Rhodes but it seems to hold the weight. It does wobble a little bit, but what can you do. :) It's a good height for playing seated. It'll work at least until I can save up enough to get the Rhodes legs, and once I do, it'll definitely be great for any of my other keyboards. I only gave it 4 stars because of the slight wobble and a bit of a flimsy feel in the center when it's fully extended. I wish there was a cross bar in the middle to stabilize it a bit more. Despite that, I think it is pretty sturdy. Very good value I think!

Comments about On-Stage Stands Pro Platform Keyboard Stand:

Used this on a gig and was very pleased. Had it set up in less than a minute and was super fast taking down. Transporting is a breeze. Fits up right in a cart I have with wheels with my seat and music. Love it! Only consideration for others using Yamaha p-105 or keyboards with speakers on the bottom, make the stand smaller than you think you would. Anotherwords, don't extend the full length because that covered up speakers and made the sound softer and muffled. The stand was still incredibly sturdy with the length shortened and be speakers were exposed and the sound was perfect that way!!! So great!
