This thing can take a beating. I flew with my Aplause AA21 to Asia this summer and aside from a couple minor scratches to the exterior of the case everything stood up very well. You'd never be able to tell from looking and the interior of the case or the guitar itself. Very impressed. The only negative thing about this case is that around the bowl the case didn't line up perfectly. But once you latch the case everything lined up great and there was no wiggle once the case was latched.
Its a bummer that the only hard cases out there that fit the Ovation style acoustic are Ovation cases. Normally I wouldn't have paid for a case this expensive. But overall I am happy that I did. The fits great, the quality is almost unbeatable. But for a poor college student its just darn expensive.

Bought this 8158 Guitar case for an Ovation CC-24 Acoustic electric because, well, it's an Ovation case. Not very well made, I'm afraid. For the price, I'm very disappointed. I LOVE my guitar, but the case needs to be drop-kicked through the Goalposts of life due to poor manufacturing/quality control issues.Externally, the Top half lip is out of alignment with the lower half by 1/8" - I have to force the bottom half in to mate with the top in order to latch the case.Internally, the case pocket is rather small. The inside lining was not glued to the case very well, I still see the white glue around the edges on the top and bottom halves where the lining was supposed to be attached, and have used a round-tip knife blade to try to push the lining back down in-between the case side and internal foam.The Guitar sits noticeably crooked in the case due to the neck support being off-center. This places my Hi E side of the headstock 3/8" from one side, and my Lo E side 1 & 1/2" away from the other. Basically, the Tuning Keys on the Hi string side almost touch the inside of the case.I buy many things from M.F., just seem to have snagged a bad one with this case. I'm keeping it because it "fits" my guitar.

This has a much lighter weight than my Stagg Hardshell Case, fits my Medium Bowl Ovation perfectly and offers adequate protection for everyday normal use. Holds my small tuner/capo/fast-fret wipe/set of strings & picks in compartment under neck. Also enough space under headstock for a 10ft. guitar cable.

I bought the 12 string Ovation but didn't get the case. I picked this up later and I'm really glad I did. The case is well constructed, seems to fit the guitar well, and is plenty secure. Lots of locks around the lid, so there's no chance I'll accidently catch a latch on my jeans and have the case pop open. It also fits the contour of the Ovation guitar really well while giving me a surprising about of room for storage of a strap and misc stuff.

In 1974 I bought a new Ovation Custom Balladeer with case. After 38 hard years the case had seen better days and needed replacing. This is just the case for me. I just couldn't pass it up. My guitar fits nicely and the case is even a bit lighter than the original. BTW, it's an Ovation case, not a suitable substitute.
This case is molded for the deep body Ovation guitar.
Very well made. Plush lining.Lighter than the original.
Good price. Couldn't pass it up.

My old ovation case was warped and would not close properly, in extreme cold or hot my guitar wasn't protected well. So I love the fit. It does the job for me. If you have a deep bowel it is a perfect fit. I would recommend this case as a good buy for the money.
Hard shell molded plastic exterior, black, with ovation imprinted on the front. Trimmed in aluminum forms a great seal barrier. 4 pull down clasp middle clasp has a key lock.inside molded foam inner body compartment coverd with plush black velvet. Small compartment big enough for strap, capo and small tuner. I have a deep bowel 70's model 12 string, perfect fit for a deep bowel. Snug as a bug in a rug.
Very satisfied with the cost for the money I feel it is a good value. I got it to protect my baby and it seems to be a good fit. Classes and latches easily.

I have two Ovation LX guitars, a six string and a twelve string, and only had one case to transport them. While I don't take them both very often, I still wanted a good case in addition to the wonderful RoadRunner I had. I purchased this case because the RoadRunner is no longer available. I expected a premium case for my premium guitars, but was very disappointed. Both guitars are deep bowl, or so I thought. Looks like I'll be putting a soft towel down on top of the body before I close the lid to keep it from flopping around. Also, the photo shows the hinge strap installed at the base of the case (like my RoadRunner), but the case I received has it installed in the middle. The strap is too short, and doesnt's allow the top to stay open on its own. I'll keep using my RoadRunner case when I only need one guitar. In cases where I need both, I'll owe an apology to the guitar that gets the Ovation case. This case is overpriced for an Applause, and underdesigned for an Ovation LX.
