Throne for the Ages

By SeagreenDW

from Rochester, NY

Ask me a question

The PDP DW DT900 is a totally solid platform. The fit and finish are top-notch, the legs open with ease, and it's a breeze to adjust. I also have a Roc'N'Soc, hydraulic adjustable, (which gives you a little boost as you get up ... nice), and a back-rest. I needed a 2nd throne for my practice drums, travel, and higher adjustment. The DT900 goes plenty high, but not real low. Initially, the seat (of ample diameter) is a little hard on the butt, but as another reviewer said, gets more comfortable with use. It has actually improved my playing in the control, and power department. The Roc'N'Soc (hydraulic) has a little bounce, but if you're looking for a comfortable, totally stable throne, this is your baby. Just remember, the seat starts out hard, but softens after a couple weeks of use. Oh, one more thing, it looks great on stage ... and in your practice space.

Great for the price

By Asian Kid

from Texas

All of my hardware is pacific. It's really good hardware for really cheap. I've had the zebra throne for about a month now. It is really heavy duty and does not wobble at all when I'm playing. I've heard many complaints that the seat is hard and uncomfortable, and it feels that way when you first sit on it. But after while it starts to sink in to the shape of your butt. It should mention that in the description because I think it's the best feature about this throne. It works really well for hours of playing or band practice. But the best thing is obviously the looks. It is definatly worth the price.

could be better...could be worse

By matt-DAF-9

I've had this product for about a month now...the seat looks great for the price. But it does sit a little high. even at it's lowest placing it was 2 inches higher than my previous stand. A good way to counter this is to take off the large threaded memory lock below the seat. It is harder than I expected but if it was too soft it wouldn't be as stable. And it is stable. A good looking stable throne for the price. Hope this helped.

Bad Quality Good looks

By dixiejoe88

I bought this throne and was not impressed at all. It is not well made. It looks pretty sweet, just like the pork pie thrones that its an imitation of. The actual pad broke off of the grommet that sits on the post. Overall it isn't good qaulity. I bought a pork pie and love it. It is definately worth the extra few bucks.

Sitting on a rock

By Forrest Fire

from Hendersonville, TN

I always thought this throne would feel so comfortable and bouncy but when I tested it out it was so solid. There was no support or anything. Althought it was hard and stiff it was very sterdy and it looks good. All in all for the money you could get a better throne.

compare to pork pie

By Guitardan20

Awesome drum seat does not move at all when you sit on it or move with it easy to adjust up or down just spin it! very very comfortable just like the pork pie seat threaded so the seat can't fall down on you :0) only thing it doesn't have is a back. buy this seat now.

Disappointing

By Mr. Needsanewthrone

from Mpls, MN

I've had this throne for over a year. The seat has a plush covering and provides ample support. The base is a tried and true stable tripod design. The problem is the seat is just bolted to the base with one screw, which causes one side to be higher. Also the seat is very squeaky and wobbly. At this price range there are much more stable alternatives.

gold leopard throne

By Jim Jim

from New Jersey

This is an extremely comfortable and sturdy throne. no sweating or slipping with the cloth top. my only complaint is that the seat does turn some after tightening the seat. no vice-type lock, just wing nut.
