I am reviewing this product based on what it is: a set of hardware for this price. I see other reviewers taking away stars or criticizing it just because the product is not as good as others that costs three or four times more. My review:
I just can't believe I got a set of hardware for this price. That fact alone is unbelievable. And then, that the hardware is of good quality and serves its purpose is just incredible. No, it does not have the PDP logo anywhere, and really, who cares? I don't think that it has to do with PDP being embarrased by this product but more to do with the fact that it is generic hardware. They are sold as a PDP product anyway.
I bought this because I was tired of packing and unpacking my hardware to use it on my practice kit, but I didn't want to spend the money in extra hardware, there was always a new cymbal or percussion effect that took priority over that. Until I found this. I got this set for my practice kit and I couldn't be happier.
The hi hat stand works well and is responsive. The snare stand keeps a steel 14'X6.5' snare sturdy and in place. The cymbal stand is thin, but it holds a 20" Sabian xs20 ride perfectly and does not wobble while riding. Since is a straight stand I don't see any issues holding bigger and heavier cymbals. The kick pedal works well, no squeaking, it is responsive and I had no problems playing fast patterns. All parts do what they are supposed to do effectively. This is a great set for a practice kit or as a backup.
I have not taken this hardware to gigs but I don't see a problem doing it if you put them in a hardware case (as one should always do with any hardware) and don't throw them around in your trunk. I wouldn't put them through daily heavy gigging though.
This is a great set of hardware that can last a long time if you take care of it.

The hi hat stand is really not working well. Needs to constantly be adjusted and doesn't have a firm stand. I tipped it over and it was bend beyond repair. The drum stand needs to be frequently adjusted as well. It does the job, however. I ordered some TAMA hardware twice the price as replacement...the quality is night and day. There is hardly any tension adjustment on the hi hat stand as well. I think it is ok as a beginner's set...but if you stick to it you will need replacement a couple of months into it..

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

I have bought a couple sets of these for using with our Girls Rock camp. We often get donations of drums but rarely hardware, so we've needed to supplement. These are perfectly fine for that purpose. They are lightweight but sturdy. I'm not sure they would hold up to a lot of gigging and travel, but for a kit that stays home most of the time these are perfect. On sale this is the best deal I've found on hardware, and I've bought them several times now.

...you wouldn't want to clamp a tom holder to the cymbal stand because it's about as wide as an index finger, and you can't change the angle of the beater for the kick drum so it'll hit the top of your foot. Still well worth the price!

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

This is a lot of hardware for the money. I use this hardware pack on my home kit, and it never travels. I get the impression this hardware (the bass pedal and hi-hat stand in particular) would not hold up the grind of touring. But if it's just a set in your basement, you can't beat the quality for price. All double-braced.

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

This hardware isn't heavy-duty but isn't junky either. You could easily spend what this package costs on each of the four pieces included, so it's a good value. The kick pedal has surprisingly good feel but the hi-hat stand could be a little more responsive. The kick pedal and high-hat stand might not last long with a hard-hitting metal drummer, but the cymbal and snare stands seem solid. This package should work for most people, especially if you don't want to spend more on your hardware than your drum kit cost.

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

First off, I know little about drums. I sing and play guitar professionally. I bought this hardware set as a replacement for a 1974 pearl kit that I gave my 7 year old son for Christmas. The old hardware was just plain worn out and looked terrible. I was hesistant to replace vintage parts with new "cheaper" hardware in fear it would look cheap. I must say, I couldn't be happier. The only minor thing I would do over is get a higher quality kick pedal. I still havn't replaced that but between my son and I playing every day on it it's all held up very well. I'd recomend this to any "hobby" musician or for a practice drum set. If you're a serious musician that plans to use this professionally then you will want something higher quality.
As far as quality goes, this a decent hardware kit. It's deffinately not top quality but for the price it's a great starter setup or replacement set for older kits you don't want to dump hundreds of dollars into.
The value is the best part. At this price it's a great buy. It does the job and is sturdy enough to withstand normal use.

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

I ignored most of the reviews out there because I was strapped for cash. However, if you can hold out a little longer and save for better hardware do that. Really the only thing that is salvageable is the snare stand. The hi hat stand is very unresponsive, and the spring just isnt strong enough. The bass pedal is also very hard to play with. I am not the best drummer, however I am not bad either, and I found it very hard to get the doubles like I can on other bass pedals. The cymbal stand is actually holding a floor tom mounted to it, however its very wobbly with that much weight, but with just a ride/crash on it that your no thrashing on it would be fine. All in all save your dollars and buy hardware from a pawn shop or online piece by piece. Dont buy packs.

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

I bought this hardware pack a month or 2 ago and found it to be stylish/good looking and was rather functional. But, the big point is, this is not really "full size" hardware (some of it). You may guess that by the price, but don't worry if you don't need much more than occasional gigging and lightweight practice gear. If you are starting out, definately consider this pack! The hi-hat stand (especially the base) was smaller than my stock one on my kit, but the attatchment rod is acceptably long. The straight cymbal stand does it's job well, just not for a constant metal music assault if that's you. The snare stand is that new off-set tilter style which works well with any setup but this one wobbles too easy. The bass pedal is fine (especially with the quick and easy new style beater head) but i have a double kick setup already so i don't use it much. The felts and joints are decent, and it is a good hardware pack for a smaller drum set or drummer. You may want to just put your hundred bucks toward buying nicer separate hi-hat stands and cymbal stands - which i am now. Hope this helps.

Comments about PDP Z5 Hardware Pack:

I bought this set as a temporary set for a new drumset I was putting together. It is fine for that, but I will be replacing it soon. The hi-hat has poor response and a weak spring; that is the main complaint as far as functionality. Other than that, everything is just real flimsy. I will say that it is fine for the price, but if you can go better you should
