This is the best music stand I have ever used. I have a music ministry at several nursing homes weekly. I needed something portable, yet sturdy, that could hold several music books without folding up. I have used the first one I bought for over ten years. I bought a second to keep at church.
For the money, it's excellent!

Overall, it's a good stand and works exactly as it is supposed to. I just with it was more durable.
This stand is a great concept. It folds up and fits into a portable bag for the gigging musican.
The problem is the quality. I've had this stand about two years and the center panel of the stand is now cracking. The feet on the legs cracked many months ago and the zipper on the carrying back stooped working properly months ago as well.
For the price, I suppose two years is a decent amount of time for this stand to last but I'm rating fairly low on value.

Comments about Peak Music Stands Portable Music Stand:

I was concerned this stand would not be stable but it is not. The tripod has a large footprint and the construction sturdy. The quick releases on the column are very good. I like the folding top. Easy to set up and take down. The stand and desk are very stable and take a lot of weight. A delight from the cheaper wire stands. Overall, a good compromise between portable and studio stands. While I think it will be durable, I would not expect this to last as long a studio stand. For what it is to do, I would say it is excellent. My only minor complaint is the carrying case. Does not strike me as very sturdy and is a bit too snug.

I love that is collapses and fits in a great little bag. It's a bit wobbly for my big music book, but perfect for a few charts or iPad. Also, beware. It is easy to pinch your fingers when breaking it down.

Light and compact stand. I don't have to carry my metal stand anymore. The stand can hold a 2 inch binder full of music with ease. The adjustments are easy to make it goes up and down and the shelf tilts several degrees. I can break down and get away from my gig faster than ever with this stand. I only wished I would have purchased this stand years ago.

Comments about Peak Music Stands Portable Music Stand:

We have a butt load of covers in our songbook. I use a big three ring binder with sheet protectors to keep track of them all. This stand has a big lip which does the job. I am concerned about the folding hinges which seem a bit flinty, but no problems yet.

Only done one gig with it but like it fine so far. Was tired of lugging a cumbersome "regular" music stand so when I saw this, it seemed perfect. Others have mentioned durability, which may be an issue depending on how you handle your gear.

Comments about Peak Music Stands Portable Music Stand:

More sturdy than the thin metal wire type stands, but ultimately not durable enough for 100+ gigs a year several years. I have musician friends who have been using other heavy duty stands that have lasted for 20+ years and this thing lasted 5 years. The compactness of it was nice. It packs pretty small and it does have the case. People commented it, and it was a cool and functional novelty piece. I know people went out and bought a few after they saw mine. The last couple years though the plastic clasps that hold the stand up had been getting tight to where it was becoming a hassle to break down after a show. I pinched my fingers in the plastic accordion sheet music holder more than once also. Eventually the middle panel started cracking / breaking. It still functions but I have to rig it up carefully before a show. I've gone back to the old heavy metal one a friend gave me 18 years ago.
