This is the best music stand I have ever used. I have a music ministry at several nursing homes weekly. I needed something portable, yet sturdy, that could hold several music books without folding up. I have used the first one I bought for over ten years. I bought a second to keep at church.
For the money, it's excellent!

Overall, it's a good stand and works exactly as it is supposed to. I just with it was more durable.
This stand is a great concept. It folds up and fits into a portable bag for the gigging musican.
The problem is the quality. I've had this stand about two years and the center panel of the stand is now cracking. The feet on the legs cracked many months ago and the zipper on the carrying back stooped working properly months ago as well.
For the price, I suppose two years is a decent amount of time for this stand to last but I'm rating fairly low on value.

The Peak music stand is perfect for our travelling needs. It is stable enough to hold a big play book and light enough for me to carry it around.

This stand fits into it's own little carrying case. I have several nice stands that fold up, but not the trays. This Peak music stand is perfect for mobile use. It is also well made.

A professional friend had one that he had purchased from a different company. I wanted one but thought it was a bit pricey. I put it on my wish list for about 10 days and didn't see any special offers. I purchased it at the listed price. It arrived on Tuesday. The following week I got a notice that it had went on sale for less than I paid. I sent an e-mail asking for credit, but received no reply. Good product, but disappointing customer service.

I bought this stand to use busking and to be more "portable" on the move. The cheap "wire" ones cannot hold a much and are unstable. This stand does everything a nice metal "high-end" stand does and is compacts to the nice sized carry bag. After careful study, I made the right choice!

Comments about Peak Music Stands Portable Music Stand:

I was originally thinking Manhasset, but saw this one and like the fact it was collapsible and had a carry bag. After numerous gigs I like this stand even more. With all the other things I have to carry I like that I don't have a big, bulky music stand to carry. I'm a little concerned over the plastic construction, but so far no problems. Thumbs up!

Comments about Peak Music Stands Portable Music Stand:

I needed a strong and stable conductor's stand that I can easily carry. I have been using it now for almost three years, in regular rehearsals with an orchestra. It is fairly easy to assemble/disassemble, the tripod base is stable and sturdy, even if you're outdoors, wind won't knock it down. Even though it is quite sturdy, it isn't heavy. Folded in its bag, it is easy to carry.

There was only one issue that I had to slightly remedy. The front lip is a separate piece that slides into the groove on the unfolded desk. Either the groove was to tight, or the tongue on the lip piece was too thick, but it was practically impossible to slide it in, and even more difficult to slide it out. I took some extra fine sandpaper and sanded the edges of the tongue on the front lip piece until it slid into the groove without effort. With the extra fine sandpaper, it was actually more like buffing than sanding; the surface is still extremely smooth and glides easily through the groove. Judging by other reviews, it looks like what I got was a "lemon", and others don't have the problem. If you do have the problem and don't want to remedy it yourself, contact the maker "Peak" and they will fix it at no cost.

The stand has withstood the test of time so far, without any signs of wear or tear. There are two simple clamps that are used to tighten the height-adjustment pole, as well as the tripod base height, plus one large, sturdy plastic screw that adjusts the angle of the desk. There is no need to over-tighten the screw, since there is thin rubber between the surfaces, which provides plenty of friction to hold desk in place.

This is an incredibly good value at this price. It provides strong and solid desk surface, allowing musicians to write without the fear of punching through paper or knocking the stand down.
