I've owned the PEARL ROADSTER D2000BR throne for over 4 yrs. and it was truly a GREAT investment. I'm 6'3" 245lbs with back issues & was always miserable after a set until i spent the cash for this Pearl God sent gift to drummers. I love the 4 legs for complete stability. it is incredibly adjustable to suit anyone. The backrest is awesome, i have it adjusted to support my low back & it won't allow me to slouch. Yes it's heavy, but do you really want a flimsy throne? I take the seat off & carry the legs with my hardware in a roadcase. As for the cost I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" it aint cheap but it's worth every cent. I too will be buying another one for my church. I"ve had several drummers ask to use my throne at festivals or gigs with multiple bands & everyone loves it. I've tried several other thrones including roc-n-soc, they dont compare. I recommend this product to any drummer that wants complete comfort & stability. Nothing bad to say & no bad experiences. Pearl I LOVE THIS THRONE

Spend this much for sloppy quality control and poor manufacturing? No. Very poorly made. Mine was drop-shipped from Pearl. The box was perfect- no impact evident. But, the backrest leans to one side by at least an inch or more. This is supposed to be the top-of-the-line? And on a throne that costs this much, should you see staples on the backrest? No. I called Pearl customer service, and the guy actually said that the backrest misalignment was because it had been "tightened down too much- I'm not saying you did this, but"... Ridiculous. There is no way to lock the seat to the base and still have the seat swivel. Loosen enough for the seat to swivel, and the seat will come right off if you lift the whole thing by the seat.Great idea, poor execution. I'll not buy Pearl ever again.

A Secure Brick

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

I bought this back when I was a Pearl fanatic and honestly it is a decent throne. The back rest did not feel comfortable at all for me, instead of cradling the back it pushed in on my spine and my back wanted to roll off on either side. The cushion is much to stiff, some people may like that but when you are in one spot for 3-4 hours straight like me, it kills your back. If you are a larger guy, like me, 6'4, the cushion placed as shown in the picture does not work, you feel as if you will fall off the front edge. The best feature is the throne base, it is dead secure and the best throne base I have ever used, I bought a Pork Pie cushion and put it on this base and I have the best throne I have ever played on. Hope this helps.

Best money I ever spent

By Mike from Big Nation

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

This seat is so comfortable as well as sturdy. The seat cut out for your tail bone makes long sessions a breeze and the back rest not only gives a welcome support, provides stabilization for double bass pedal fills. I liked it so much, I bought one for my practice kit.

Dissappointed

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

After reading review after review on how good the roc and soc is, I saw this Pearl with the cutout for the tailbone and I thought that would be perfect for my lower back problem. After I played for awhile it really didn't help me with my back problem and I found this stool too be too hard and uncomfortable...this thing is so heavy you can't move it without getting off completely and use 2 hands to strategically place it behind the kit, think I will sell it and buy the roc and soc!!!

OK but...

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

I have the conductors/timpani stool version of this stool which is a bit taller and has a foot rest ring that needs attachment. The foot ring seems a bit cheap but the rest of the metal parts are top in strength. The padded seat cannot be turned on my version to put the back rest on the other side, but the shape of the seat is very smart. It is quite comfortable but the padding used inside the seat is stiff around the edges and reacts to head in the center, causing the center to loosen up and the edging to sort of dig into your legs. The shape of the seat is great for men, obviously, and can allow body parts to hang slightly or air to pass more easily, if you know what I mean. The rest of the stool is the stronges desing I have ever seen, including DW hardware. I would give this one an overall 9 if the price were reasonable, and a 10 if the seat padding was a better quality.

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

I just received my D-2000BR yesterday and used it for over an hour practicing. Afterwards my body showed no signs of fatigue or soreness to my lower back. (a problem I was experiencing with my regular DW throne) This seat's backrest and it's ergonomic seat pad which is also angled is the main reason for no soreness. Draw backs to this seat are obvious, it cost a lot more than any of the other thrones that have a back rest but don't be fooled my imitation, you get a realy great seat for the money.

Comfort par excellance

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

After using a similar style throne from Tama which I found uncomfortable, I traded it on this Pearl unit and all I can say is wow! The seat is incredibly supportive on the back and it is so sturdy and comfortable that I now forget about the chair and find myself better able to move around my kit. Best buy in a long time. Great work Pearl!

Best Throne I have ever used

By Mick-z9OjZ

from Newmarket, NH

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

Writing a review is not like me but this Throne Rules! I have a Roc-N-Soc and a Pork Pie, both good thrones so I was hesitant about finding something better. I was having some back and hip fatigue so I wanted to try someting else to see if it would help. This throne is so comfortable and supportive and I weigh 220lbs. I never have used a back rest and thought about just taking it off, but I was able to adjust it whereever I liked in my lower back. The construction is rock solid and the ergonomic seat is great in either position. I play gigs that are 3-4 hours long so this throne made my life easier. If I had to pick it apart all I could say is that it's a bit heavy and hard to fit in a case, so I just leave it set up and carry it that way. You won't be disappointed.

the Best

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

I love this drum throne! I had owned others before, but they never felt as comfortable as this one. The one thing that I would have to admit would be that when I first got it, I didn't know if I liked it because it felt completely different than any other I had sat on. I adjusted somethings (you can reverse the actual seat cushion around..stuff like that) and adjusted the back rest. It took a little bit to get use to that back rest...I had never used one shaped like that... but I got use to it quickly...Now I would not buy anything else. I am actually about to by another one (one for the church I play at and one for home). This seat will spoil you.

dont expect too much from this product.

By Bernardo Ruiz

Comments about Pearl D2000BR Roadster RS Throne with Backrest:

overall this product is useless and not worth buying
im a very big fan pearl but when it comes down to this specific throne i had high expectations only to be very unpleased with the results later. first thing i noticed is that its way too heavy but thought hey its heavy duty it should last me quite a while but and overcame on how heavy it was. another thing i noticed is that the seat cushion was heavy with or without the backrest on it and it seemed a little to firm for my taste but once again i overcame that and thought ill break into it eventually and get a little more softer as time goes on. i noticed the staples on the backrest and underneath the cushion, its something that noticed but thought hey whos really gonna care its a good seat overall. then one day while practicing and this is something that got on my last nerve was the bar that holds legs of the throne and where you place the spiral bar that connects to cushion and inside the bar came loose and just dropped my seat. i was confused at first but then realized what happened and it didnt make sense either because im not that tall neither am ai heavy so knew it wasnt because i was too heavy to the point where my weight was the issue and problem i tried fixing it by using a rubber mallet and hammering it back in but every now and then now matter what every time i practice it eventually just drops me to the ground again this became very annoying after three times in a row to the point where i just didnt want to practice again anymore simply because of what i knew what to expect and didnt want to get annoyed by it. in my eyes with such hype and with the cost that i bought it for it is not worth it at all. this was a complete waste of my money. im not ruling out that pearl overall is a bad company that makes poor equipment because they do not, im just simply saying when it came down to this specific throne pearl failed miserably at making such a product. other than that every equipment i use is pearl and i would trust no other so far im a satisfied returning customer but when its about this specific throne im not pleased with at all
the quality of the throne is terrible
the value i give this specific product is that its not worth your money at all
