Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I bought one of these racks in 2006 and haven't looked back. I lost all the stand clutter for starters, and it's been great in setting up the rack toms along with the cymbals right where I want them each and every time (no guess work involved). I store mine and move it in a keyboard road case. Mind you, the rack in and of itself isn't too heavy, but in the road case it is a bit heavier, but it certainly is protected. I wouldn't trade this rack for any other, not to mention Pearl's hardware is the best as well, which is All I Use. I use the legs for cymbal stands to mount cymbals and chimes. I am probably going to use the rear legs for putting my overhead mic stands into so I can lose those mic stand bases as well.I use the PCX 200 tiltable clamps as well for positioning gear. This is by far one of the most versatile racks in existence. Once a clamp is placed, it won't slip no matter what. It was money WELL Spent.

    Functional, Versatile & Reliable

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I've used this rack system with 2 different drum kits (Pearl & Tama) for over a year. It's been a great buy for a number of reasons. First, it's an amazing time saver when it comes to setting up & tearing down; remove the drums & cymbal booms, take it apart & it's ready to travel. Get to the gig, put it back together, hang the drums & cymbals & it's good to go. Second, you can hang a LOT on it: Mine's supporting 8",10",12",13",& 14" toms, 8 cymbals, a remote hi-hat and a Roland SPD-S (I have room for more if needed). I recommend extra PCX-100s & PCL-100s right out of the gate if you're racking a larger kit. The square tube design helps it all stay put. It adapted easily to the new tom-mounting system when I switched kits & it's decreased the footprint of my kit by removing stands which is great when playing smaller venues. Lastly, people LOVE the look and it's always nice to be complimented on your gear. To folks that say "no one plays racks anymore," I say "With a system like this, why WOULDN'T you?" I'm glad I bought it & I suspect you will be too.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I've used this rack a few different times at school and it's come through every time. The clasps on it can hold about anything without worry that it's gonna fall. At one point, we had a brake drum, a pic snare, hi-hats, 3 toms, a wind gong, 3 suspended cymbals, a saw blade, ice bell, wind chimes, a china cymbal, and ribbon crushers. The next year we had 4 rack toms, a floor tom, crash cymbals, 2 suspended cymbals, a bell tree, 2 triangles, 3 mallet/stick trays, a tambourine, an ice bell, a cowbell, a ratchet, and a flexatone. It fit two people comfortably, or, when played by one person, had a 32" marching bass drum lying in the middle. Nothing has ever failed on it and it only ever took 10-15 minutes to assemble and put every thing on it.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I bought this rack to make my life easier when tearing down and setting up my kit. I eliminated all 6 of my cymbal stand bottoms and the bass drum hardware. Everything locks tight in place and the memory locks make for quick set up and tear down. I knew I would love this rack but didn't know how much until I used it a few times. I love it and it makes my kit look even better than it did before I bought the rack. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Right out of the box easy to set up. Everything is there to put in up in 10-15 minutes tops. Add a few pcx 200s and you should be good to go for almost any kit. Pearl makes such nice hardware its all I use.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

Love this rack assembly. Just got it yesterday 8/19/10. User friendly, easy to set up and loved the options for arranging...Only two things negative..The wings were way to long for my set up, so I just cut about 10" off on either side which was very easy to do even if you only have a minimal amount of mechanical ability. I am also purchasing two of the Pearl tilting clamps, I did buy two of the regular clamps that match the 4 you get with the rack but the tilting clamps I believe will work better for mounting the drums, at least two of them anyway...You will not be disappointed with this rack, it is well worth the money.

      Greatest Rack ever

      By Jonathan Foster

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

After a long time of researching and talking to local drumshops and drummers in Phoenix, AZ I went out and finally bought a curved rack and I most say that I absoulutely love this rack. I love the square tubing design compared to the standard tubing other hadware companies make. I have a huge kit and after putting everything on it I was blown away how it came out. Best invest ever for any drummer looking to get rid of those stands and switching to this great rack. I took off the cymbal arms from their stands and any stand you have this rack will accomidate you in everyway, and your imangination is put to the test to see how creative you can get on putting everything you own onto this rack. Absolutely amazing

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

The Icon Curved rack has save me many hours of set up time in the past year. I have played on numerous rack systems before, but the Icon by far takes the win.
The square design of the icon rack makes it so the clamps do not slip like on other round racks.
I personally use the PCX100 and 200 clamps.
I have never had a clamp fall off, never had a leg brake, and never had the bar move up or down on me. The memory locks work extremely well.

The only con for this rack is since the legs are chrome so they scratch easily, however in some sweet stage lighting the audience will never know!

For people wondering if a rack is worth the money...It is. It save time and effort because you longer need all the bottoms of the cymbal stands and everything locks into to exactly where you had it last!

Best purchase i have made for my kit besides the Pearl drums themselves.

      Another WINNER from Pearl

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I have played drums for over 20 years, and have always had kits 7 pieces or more. Generally always single bass with d.pedals. Have been there, and done that, with the stand thing. The more you have, the harder it gets. Even the sturdiest of stands, have to be set just right to avoid tipping. The Pearl Icon (curved) solves it all. Am using an 11 piece kit now, single bass, and alot of toms, and cymbals. As soon as I got the 3 pieces set in place, I could tell it was a winner. Very solid, sturdy, leaves nothing undone. With my larger kit, the only change, was to switch out the standard PCX100 clamps with the PCX200 (tilter) which are rock solid, and DO allow for much greater positioning. Pearl Icon rack = two thumbs up, and then some. If you have the cash, and a medium or larger kit, and are tired of the limitations and issues that stands can cause, RUN don't walk to buy one.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

You cant beat this rack. I bought a drum set and it only came with shells. I spent hours trying to figure out how to mount every drum individually. I knew then that I needed a rack. I bought it a few months later and have never gone back. It is extremely sturdy. Dont have to worry bout a thing.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I am a huge fan of the square/curved bars. They WILL NOT SPIN on you due to this feature. Unlike many other cylindrical bars on other racks. The only problem is that the legs are cylindrical, so the width of the back legs can slide. But, that's minor and pretty much unavoidable (how else can you mount the bars?) To those who say it's not capable of "double bass", just buy 2 Pearl L-Racks and stick them together (I've seen it before).

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

This is my first drum rack ever and after doing some research, I went with this one. I couldn't be more pleased. The curved bar in front is what I wanted the most, but for someone who is not very mechanical, I was able to install this rack and put it together with hardly ANY instructions at all. EXTREMELY easy set up and break down. With anything, there is something "here and there" that we may not like, but overall, I am very happy with it. It also gives a great presence on stage. The value is WELL worth the money you pay. I have seen those "other" racks for 40%-50% more with not near as much "rack." I have heard stories about slippage and all that kind of thing from other drummers. Trust me, you don't have to worry about ANYTHING slipping on this baby! 100% happy!

I can Literally have half my kit set up in 1-2 minutes. It is portable and very user friendly. I won't ever go back to a kit that is not on a rack! It is an amazing 400 that I spent a year ago and I DON'T regret it one bit. I highly recommend this for any drummer that wants to tidy up their look on their kit and half quicker load ins/outs.

This is, in my view, one of only 2 acceptable drum racks on the market today. It's extremely solid and comes with a few clamps to get you started. I had to purchase a couple extra, but I play with a lot of cymbals. Pearl hardware is always reliable for me.

Comments about Pearl DR503C Icon 3-Sided Curved Drum Rack:

I bought this rack along with new drum heads, several additional Pearl Cymbal Holders and pipe clamps (both the Pearl PCX-100 and the Pearl PCL-100, two of each), and I'm now using all of this newly acquired gear to bring my old 6-piece 1989 Pearl World Series custom jazz kit back from the dead. This thing is ridiculously awesome! The configuration possibilities are endless. This product is a very well built, strong piece of hardware. Right now my kit is set up as a 2-up, 2-down configuration with 6 cymbals (two crashes, two splashes, ride, and china), and with the rack everything fits into a relatively small footprint. No more clutter from various drum stands and no more tripping over microphone cables (I am using velcro straps to carefully run the cabling along the rack). Also, after it arrived here and I set it up, I had unexpectedly discovered that while utilizing the extra PCL100 pipe clamp that I had ordered, I'm now able to take part of my Roland PDS-10 pad stand and easily mount my Octapad into the ICON rack. With the Pearl DR503C Curved Drum Rack, I'm now able to enjoy the fact that I will be able to have a perfect set up everytime I play a gig.

I'm now finally playing my own dream kit, thanks in part to the Pearl ICON Curved Drum Rack.

I've been playing drums for about 2 months now. I inherited the kit from my bands drummer so when he left i took over. This thing makes life as a drummer so much easier. I always thought cymbal stands looked terrible. this thing cuts down on annoying stands and it keeps everything in put. I beat the hell out of the set. Everything stays in place. Its nice to have everything you need on one simple system.

This rack is the most sturdy one on the market!I have been playing on it for about a year now, with no problems. It makes for fast set-up and tear-down. It is very adjustable.I have a few gripes though.I think the memory lock system should be changed to allow the arm's swing to lock. The side arms should telescope out, so you can adjust the length.
