Talk About Sweet!

Features:

I've been "strobe tuner envious"  for decades as the old school Peterson's we're always out of my wallet range. I've got about a half dozen different tuners and this is my fave of the lot. I first tuned it to standard guitar and it picked up the notes better than any previous (Korg,Planet Waves, Sabine) tuner I have. And I know everyone else probably is already in on the secret...I tried the sweetened tuning. Duh!!! (Insert dropped jaw here) My Martin DCX1E has never sounded as good. Looking forward to trying some of the other sweeteners and the BF tuning system as well.

Quality:

Very nicely built...easy to read...very pro looking silver finish...NIce metal storage box. Buttons are easy to activate.

Value:

If you can't afford the full size unit or didn't hold on on to your vintage Peterson, pick it up!!

Overall:

I only knocked it down to a 9 because it's the most expensive clip on tuner I've ever bought. That being said and having used it...it is definitely worth the money. If you've never tried sweetened or alternate tunings, this bad boy is the ticket. Don't know how many more features are in the stomp or srobo-flip models, but there's a reason why these tuners consistently get 4 and 5 star reviews. Next tuner you buy...get a Peterson strobe.

Top Name, Nice Unit, but is it Worth it?

Features:

Fantastic array of settings for everyone. Would have rated 10, but the strobe does not work like real Peterson strobe tuners. Only looks like the traditional strobe. In fact it does not cycle around at speeds that allow you to see how close you are getting. Rather, this unit has static symbols that look like a strobe, but simply move to the left if flat and right if sharp. No need to make it look like a real strobe. Those of us that have used real strobes will question the use of the term on this product. They could have used pictures of Mickey Mouse and it would have worked the same.

Quality:

So far so good. Down side is you have to bring the large tin box with the rubber housing to contain the tuner safely. I don't mind, but many will hate it. I would NOT trust this unit to last if transported outside the box. It would break real quick.

Value:

Step above the cheapest units, and tunes fantastically, really does get your guitar into the sweet spot. I've been tuning guitars since tuning forks were the best solution, long before portable tuners. This unit works great, but is overpriced. Get a snark and save your money.

Overall:

Great results once you learn to use it. Way overpriced. Will not last unless kept in oversized protective container. Strobe is a visual representation of their professional stand alone units. Does not actually spin. Hard to use at first, slower to use than other units until mastered. Lot's of settings I will never use. Peterson is top name in tuning machines. Buy for prestige. For most, I say go with the snark. Everyone likes them, so save your money.

I've played guitar for 35 years and used all kinds of tuners. This one did not work for me at all. If I am paying this much I would expect it to be great. My Intelli (not Intelitouch) works better. Also the new Snark tuners are very good.

Get one, be a better player

Features:

I have had my StroboClip for about a month now and have already talked one friend into getting one.  It is, quite simply the best tuner I have ever encountered and makes my 17-year-old Guild sound better than it ever has.  Because the guitar sounds so good, I enjoy playing much more and play longer and, I think, improve.  My friend also loves the StroboClip, which makes her new Taylor literally sing!   Other than my Guild, I think this is the best money I've spent on guitars and related equipment.

Quality:

The tuner comes in a protective case and is itself well made and easily adjustable to any angle.

Value:

Get this tuner, it will make your guitar or other instrument sound as the luthiers intended.

Overall:

My only hesitation in buying the StroboClip was in learning the display.  It took me about 10 seconds to master it.  When I'm done tuning, my guitar literally seems to come alive.

Overall:

Works fantastic, but after many uses at home or gigs, one day you open the 'protective tin', and lo and behold you find it's broken at the swivel-stress point!     Why would Peterson (a respected company) manufacture this product for this price (!) out of tini-tiny cheap plastic. (seems like a pan-head screw would be a better choice than a flat-head...)     Peterson needs to redesign this.     I personally don't need a bulky stomp box that's constructed out of metal, however this tuner needs to be joined to the clip with a more sturdy material.     Kinda disappointed.

Excellent product, pathetic construction!
