Accurate tuning with a screen you can see virtually anywhere!

The Peterson Stomp Classic Strobotuner is a pedal tuner that combines the timeless 'mojo' of the legendary Conn ST-11 Strobotuner with the most desired features in a pedal tuner to date!

Peterson didn't stop there as they also added many exclusive features into the Stomp Classic, such as Peterson's pioneering true-bypass circuitry, a host of new Sweetened Tunings™ that include support for 7-string guitars, electric violin, and mandolin-family instruments, along with their renowned built-in, fully adjustable, active DI.

Unparalleled note detection and a high-definition, realtime strobe display resolution of 0.1 cent combined with a host of presets allowing for each instrument's individual idiosyncrasies (including string deflection, interval spacing, harmonic nature and range) place the Stomp Classic in the top of its class.

An extremely bright, high-contrast LCD display makes the Stomp Classic an excellent choice for use outdoors or wherever lighting conditions are less than optimal. Integrated pedalboard mounting lugs keep the Stomp Classic in place on the road and while in use.

The Stomp Classic is built to last and capable of taking the most grueling punishment while protecting your cables with the included cable guard. We have designed this to be the most roadworthy tuner you can place on your pedalboard.

The Stomp Classic's look pays homage to the most iconic tuner of the 1970s, the ST-11 Strobotuner - still used then and now on the stages of some of the most exalted of rock gods!

  • 100% true-bypass tuning

I've had 'em all...Peterson SAM, Strobostomp Classic and II (also great except for direct sunlight), Boss, TC Electronc Polytune (great concept but needs work), and TurboTuner...this one beats them all. Tough, super accurate, and locks in REALLY quickly. Many other tuners have trouble "making up their mind" if you are in tune or not, which wastes alot of time in between tunes...this one is the fastest and most accurate by far. Anybody wanna buy a couple TC Polytunes??

As said, the best by far and I've had 'em all...
Pricey but worth it, all three of my boards are getting them.

Just got my Peterson Stomp classic. The "true bypass" doesn't work, in fact, no output works in any mode. The unit tunes nicely enough, but I really need output. Just because it is expensive, does not mean it works.
Item doesn't work out of the box.
Do you want to pay this much for something that doesn't work?

Peterson addressed all the issues with a pedal tuner and encasesed it in a solid metal chassie with all the whistles and bells. No dissappointments with this one!

Comments about Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner Pedal Tuner:

I have used many other tuners in the past and all have failed. This should be the last tuner I ever buy. I love the accuracy and easy readout. It seems sturdy enough to last a long time, even under the harsh circumstances it will endure at my live performances.
I was tired of the rest and wanted the best so I reckon it is money well spent to avoid stress at gig time.

        Stomp Classic Stobotuner Pedal Tuner

        By G.G. Moseley

        from Midwest USA

Comments about Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner Pedal Tuner:

There is nothing about this tuner that I find inadaquate, its by far the best thing out there on the market today, IMHO. Peterson has gone the extra mile in its construction and in its features. I don't believe you will be dissatisfied.
I've used every tuner known to man, PLUS I have a Peterson Flip-Top strobe tuner but this one beats them all. Super accurate, made like a Sherman tank, really "holds" the note a long time - - that's been a pet peeve of mine in the past - - I couldn't find a tuner that would hold the notes long enough to tell if they are really in tune. (now the Peterson Flip-Top will do this also but I don't guess they make this anymore (?) ) Plus, the Flip-Top is not as sturdy as this "Stomp Clasic". I even tried the Peterson "Clip-On" model but its really flimsy and wouldn't hold a long note. This Stomp Classic is NOT cheap but as the old saying goes, a lot of the time "you get what you pay for"! Everything worked on mine, right out of the box. I highly recommend this tuner - - its a hefty unit and will take a lot of hard use, whether in the living room or out on the road! I've done a lot of both in about 50 years of playing guitar.
Its put together for rugged use! Plus, it doesn't move around on the floor, whether its in a pedalboard arrangement or used independently....it stays put!
Well, the only reason I give it a 9 instead of a 10 is that it AIN'T CHEAP but its probably worth the money, it will probably be the last tuner you will ever have to buy.

        Stomp Classic tuner

Comments about Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner Pedal Tuner:

I love this tuner. I had a planet wave true strobe tuner before, but it was difficult to tune with it.

So far I used this peterson tuner for intonating 10 electric guitars. It was very easy to do with this tuner. I also use this tuner for playing my guitars. What a great tuner, it has a guitar sweetner that is great. I feel like I can play much better now, cause it sounds so good.
Has more features than I know what to do with. But It has what I need for guitar.
Bought this a week ago. So far...the quality looks good.
A little expensive. I guess we get what we pay for.

Buy This Tuner - You Won't Regret It

        By Player

        from Iowa

Comments about Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner Pedal Tuner:

Far more accurate than my Boss 12TU-12H, my Line 6 POD, or my Line 6 Spider tuner. The mute on it allows you to tune on stage during or in between songs. I love the true by-pass feature. The readout/diplay is bright! You will be able to read the tuner under difficult lighting situations. If you are a serious musician and play at least once a week live, I would not even look at another tuner. This is the tuner you want.
OK, the thing is probably overbuilt - it has more features than you need, but that does not make it a bad choice. Someday you may need to those extra features. So, while you want a tuner, maybe you will use the active DI, etc. I love the easy access for the 9 volt battery. Brilliant. No messy wires. The tuner display is easy to see - it's very bright. You can read it under very bright stage lights. The preset Sweeteners also make tuning a breeze.
        Built like a tank.
I'd give it a 10, but it's so overbuilt, it's possible they could have made it for less money. It's worth every penny, though. It is very accurate. I have no regrets I spent the extra money to finally get a tuner that works. Sure you can spend $80 on a tuner that works pretty well, but why not spend a bit more for this tuner - it really works.

        Great except for outputs

        By keith stewart

Comments about Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner Pedal Tuner:

See Features rating. I accidently typed everything in there... and I can't cut and paste it here. Why no cut and paste??? Oh well, I digress.
Absolutely love the new tuner. However, within 3 minutes of using it, the outputs quite working. Since I wasn't using the outputs in a loop, it really doesn't affect me but the fact that there is already a problem with this item is concerning. Purchase with caution if you are placing this in an effects loop. The tuner itself works fabulously though. Nice strobing. Much better than their other stomp tuners in my opinion. I'm giving it 8 stars. It loses 2 stars due to the outputs not working and adding a DI. The DI is kinda useless to me. I have my own nicer DI box. The fact they added a DI to this tuner is kinda befuddling. Very heavy duty construction though.
Outstanding contruction but the outputs quit working within 3 minutes of using it.
Giving it an 8 due to the outputs quit working.

        Great pedal so far!!

        from Chicago area

Comments about Peterson VSS-C Stomp Classic Strobotuner Pedal Tuner:

Happy with this purchase so far..
Bought this as a replacement to my original Strobostomp 1 which had a fading display issue. Seems to respond more quickly and is smoother.
Heavy pedal (probably why they included tabs that fold out to mount with screws instead of velcro).

        No quality issues so far.
Expensive.......but pretty good value when you also add in it is an active DI box and potential to power other pedals......I have two Strobostomp 2's, a Strobo Clip and a Peterson 490 tuner, so I am Peterson all way..... I have a lttle miffed that my original blue Strobostomp 1 was plagued with a display isse, but I decided not to pay to get it fixed.......
