Planet Waves

Protects your guitar and keeps you informed.

The Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS is a moisture reservoir that you suspend inside the body to slowly release moisture. The humidifier protects your guitar from damage even in the driest conditions. The high absorption sponge doesn't shrink or deform, avoiding leakage. The Planet Wave humidifier's removable top and removable sponge make it easy to keep the sponge moist. The unit registers temperature and humidity levels from 20%-99%. A memory function records the date and time of the highest and lowest temperature and humidity levels. The Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier suspends from strings so it doesn't actually touch the guitar.

The sensor is good. Not too big, hads velcro for attaching wherever you want in the case. The memory function is useful. I have found my sensor to be accurate. The humidifier isn't the best humidifier, but one of the better ones. The think I dislike the most about it is I don't think it gives enough protection from dripping. I had to buy another humidifier because this one wasn't putting out enough moisture, but that wasn't its fault. It was very dry and had to use both to get to the desired humidity.

The humidifier is fine. I've used this kind before, and as long as you keep the sponge wet, it provides sufficient moisture. However, the HTS is junk! When I received it in the mail, it didn't even work. The battery doesn't fit well in its compartment (loose). I called Musician's Friend, and they sent me another one. The second one at least works, but again, the battery doesn't fit snug into its compartment. The whole 'feel' of the HTS is cheap quality. Most items at Musician's Friend are fairly priced, but this piece of junk is WAY overpriced! I'm sending it back. Of course I've got to eat the shipping cost!

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

Works well, but won't work with a sound hole c over nor with a sound hole pick-up... I have several of these, and they are easy to use and monitor...

      Not the best

      By Derick Black

      from Titletown, USA

      Pros

      • Easy to Use design

      Cons

      • Digital Hts Poor Quality

      Best Uses

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

The Digital HYS was junk. The battery cover did not stay on. The digital read out would fade in and out (probably battery related).

Overall not a bad humidifier, but the HTS was junk.

The Planet Waves Humidifier is Good

          By TAB HUNTER

          from Iowa City, IA

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

The Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS works well and should be sufficient for most applications. The small size of the humidifier and HTS are great, it?ll fit in most guitars and cases. Also, the buttons and layout are very usable. However, The LCD screen is small and washes out under bright (stage) lighting. The instructions are limited, but you can figure this thing out without them.

          Doesn't last long

          By Chris-rToca

          from Frankfort, KY

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

I have owned this humidifier for about 1 year. It works well but does not last long. The sponge now only holds 10 ml, which is half the advertising capacity. The design is okay, it tends to have a negative effect on the tuning on the D and G strings, as it usually knocks them out of tune on my Martin D-28. I'm going to try another humidifier.

          Disappointed with accuracy

          By dmartin

          from Florence, MT

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

As far as accuracy goes, hummm. Owning TWO of these Planet Wave kits... neither gauge agree with one another. I have several guitars that I care for. The need for knowing accurate temp/relative humidity is very important. If you own one of these, you may want to have it tested for accuracy. Trusting a display readout could be costly to you and your instrument if information displayed is inaccurate. Should you decide to purchase this Planet wave Kit, hang on to your warrantee info. The plastic/sponge system applicator works well in releasing mosture, but knowing precisely what the humidity is welllllll ????????.

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

The Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier and HTS is so simple to use it's pretty much fool proof. The instructions and the HTS readout are both easy to understand and follow. I highly recommend this product. I use it for both my Gibson's.

          Well designed

Comments about Planet Waves Acoustic Guitar Humidifier with HTS:

This is a very well designed product. You pay for that, but the compact design is cool and it fits well in my Taylor case. EZ to use as well.
