Right angle 1/4" connector to straight 1/4" connector.
The Planet Waves Circuit Breaker plug has fail-safe operation to save your equipment from loud pops and squeals when you change guitars with a live amp. When the button is pushed, the cable shorts while remaining plugged into your guitar, making on-stage guitar changes a snap, and eliminating any chance of sound bursts. Once the cable is shorted, remove the cable from the guitar being used and plug the cable into the next instrument. Press the button again to reactivate the cable signal.

Planet Wave switched cables are the best I have ever used. The are durable, well shielded, and noise free. The switch allows the feed from the cable to be cut, allowing killing the feed while switching between guitars, or with effects pedals, without making a great amount of noise on stag. The switch also allowing one to mute the instrument between numbers or sets. I have been using Planet Waves cables for quite some time now, and they are superior to any cable I have ever used, regardles of cost. I will buy no other from thi point forward. Five Stars!

I bought this chord because a couple of my basses (Jackson, Ric, MM Sterling) have the input jack built into the side of the axe instead of the front face. I thought a 1/4 angle jack would sit a little "cleaner" before running the cable up through the guitar strap; as opposed to just sticking straight out of the bottom and up. I hope you can visualize what I'm trying to explain.
The cable's input jack won't stay in the bass at all. I'll be playing along and it will just fall out - on ALL of my basses! I figgered since I paid so much for the cord I'd just flip the chord around and put the straight end into the input jack like a normal straight cord -- that jack falls out too -- out of all 3 basses!
I think the breaker idea is GREAT, but if the cable won't stay plugged in the input jack, then it's useless for any live usage. I can now only trust to use it as a practice cord. Good idea - just needs to go back to the drawing board = get the thing to stay in tight, please!

This cable definitely does what it's meant to do. With a circuit breaker, it eliminates the ugly pop when you plug or unplug your instrument, especially when the sound person forgot to mute you.
This would be your tool if you switch instruments on stage, and do not depend on stage men to prepare the instruments for you. The latter kind of setup would mean lots of wires, thus lots of cable management.
For me, on stage, it's one wire, multiple guitars.

Upon use I have found that the unit may still "pop" when turning the breaker on & off. But I believe that is just opening or closing the circuit, which is not likely to do any damage to the electronics in the sound system. As I have had it explained to me by a gentleman in the business, the real damage is done without the breaker plug, when the plug is removed or inserted from the instrument and the tip of the plug, which is hot, touches the outer shield of the 1/4 inch receptacle which is ground and produces a dead short.
Working in electronics myself, I can only conclude that although the manufacturer states that the circuit is shorted when the button on the breaker is released, I believe the breaker actually inserts an R/C network, a diode or some other component in the circuit. Whatever, it seems to prevent any major damage to the electronics. I did have a problem with the plug coming out of the jack. The sleeve of the plug has an expanding spring loaded design in it which helps maintain the ground contact, but also causes the plug to dislodge if any tension is placed on the cord. Other than that, so far I am pleased that the product is available.
I like the cord wrap included.
Appears well built
It is a good buy, especially when you BO/GO and they come with a lifetime guarantee. Time will tell if they stand behind that. I go through cords like water.
