I haven't had much exposure to Planet Waves cables but of the 3 I bought a few months ago, 1 works great, one doesn't stay seated in the jack and 1 stopped working. I'm NOT a touring professional so they are not experiencing the wear and tare that these cables should be able to endure.

I used to avoid cables with molded ends, but I haven't had a peep of trouble out of either of the cables. Plus, if you're playing live and move around onstage, you'll REALLY appreciate a cable flexible enough to stay out of your way.
I REALLY like this cable! I had bought a much more expensive cable, "scientifically designed for bass guitar, etc.", It was nice, BUT it was a real pain onstage. Not flexible at all! It would lie under your feet in big ropy coils. Despite its high price, it started losing connection - oddly, only on amps with COSM modeling. There's probably a scientific explanation, but there weren't any scientists around and I needed to finish the gig, so I grabbed my spare, which happened to be the 20 foot version of this cable. Even though it was way longer than I needed, I immediately flipped over how flexible it was. And I couldn't hear a difference between it and the scientifically designed cable! So I ordered a shorter one, and never looked back!
I've used the long one as a backup for several years. Used it many times when other people's cables failed, or to hook up a powered cabinet now and then. Never a peep of trouble. I like the little grippers on the shaft - they seem to help make a very positive connection.
It cost less than a fourth of what my fancy cable cost, works just as well, and stays nice and flat on the floor when I'm playing.

I bought the Planet Waves 10ft cable because I needed a cable for practice at home. At first the cable worked fine, but after 2 months it started to fall out of the input jack. Besides the cable falling out of the jack, another problem I had was that the signal would cut out and I would have to unplug the cable and plug it back in for it to work. I know that my amp was not causing the problem because I used a different cable and the problem went away.Save your money don't buy this cable; it's over priced and cheaply made.

I recently moved to an area where I had to buy a new, cheap amp and thought I'd need to return it after the first day of using it. Luckily I replaced my regular cable with one of these and I was amazed at the improvement. I'll admit the cable seems very flexible (and perhaps not as "durable" as other cables when it comes to abuse), but has been flawless for my hobby needs during the past year. I'm buying another one today.

I'm verrry disapointed with these cables. The only reason I put four for value, is because I basically got them for free as a gift when I bought a bunch of DAdario strings. The quality is horible. I used them for a couple months, and not often at all. One shorted out. I decided it was probably the jacks. I changed them, and put some switchcraft jacks on, and the cable still didn't work. evidently, the cable itself shorted somewhere, for no obvious reason (no signs of wear, tear or anything). Then another two of my four cables stopped working too. I think it's a disgrace for Planet Waves. I really wanted these cables, because supposedly, they use really good cable, and have less noise and all that. Well ofcourse they have less noise; because they don't work! DON'T BUY THIS JUNK. Spend your money on a cable where you can re-solder the jack if you have to, and all that....

I've had my planet wave cables (3 ten footers)for a few weeks now, and thus far I like them. They cost a little too much for what you get though. I bought mine on ebay for cheap, so no complaints here. I actually like the springs on the jacks. they can get a little sticky, but so far nothing has had to require more than 1/8th of my strength, so that's ok. I'm sure that it depends on your plugs though. I've used them with my 64 mustang, 86 MIJ tele, and little crate amp. All those plugs work fine with this cable. I wish that more companys would make more double angled cables. I like the right angle better than the straight plugs. the angled plugs tend to short out slower.

This is the worst and most unreliaible cable I ever had. I used to have four of them but three broken after almoust one year usage.You can be fooled by price, for this money it is much better to buy some neutrik jacks and some quality cable.And the most weird thing: the caption on the package says: "GUARANTEED FOR LIFE" but this is only caption, and I can understand it, because I wouldn't give any one a month guarantee for this piece of crap.But the caption works well as an advertisement. Overall: don't buy this if you want something really reliable, better save your money and buy this more expensive Circuit Breakers etc.

I use three of these 20'cables in my rig. I like them because they are easy to wind up and come with cable ties. I've exercised the lifetime guarantee on two that died on seperate occasions, and Planet Waves full-heartedly honored the agreement. A third one just died, so I'm about to find out if they'll help me out with this one too. If you carry spares at gigs, go for it. If not, you're going to need something more reliable.

I got my first Planet Waves cable a few years ago and never looked back!! Ive always used the cheapest cables I could find intill one day I took one of these home and it made my whole set-up sound 10 times better!!! I never thought a cable could do that much but I was wrong!!!I know the price is a little more for these but its worth every extra penny!! I have never had any problems with mine.I have three long cables and a bunch of small patch cables for my foot pedals.They all work great and make my amps sound better and louder with no static or hum!! Do your self a favor and try one of these cales,,,,,you WONT regret it!!

I got one of these a couple of weeks ago and the quality of this cable is awesome. It has warranty for life if you can mess it up then you can change it. It's not a regular cable that'll crack up in the middle of a show, it's worth every penny I recommend it.
