First off, I wasn't sure whether this product would be a standard (round) strap button, or the elliptical kind, or one of each, both of which are shown in the product photos, but it turned out to be two of the elliptical sort. It comes with the two strap buttons, four screws (two large, two medium), and two rubber grommets to protect the guitar's finish. Installation on my acoustic guitar (without a previous strap button) was a breeze; I watched a couple YouTube videos first, and it worked out great. I'm not sure I really like the elliptical shape, but it's working fine so far, and I suppose it would hold the strap better than a round button if you make sure to orient it properly. Just a note about installation: make sure, when you drill the hole, that you drill it into solid wood (the heel of the guitar is best), and that the drill bit you use is the right size, or else you'll either crack the neck, or the screw will fall out.
No installation instructions to speak of were included; would have rated a 10 if they had been.
Seems sort of expensive for a couple little pieces of metal...

I used the elliptical end pin strap buttons on three of my accostic guitars and they were a good match to my tunners. They look great and best of all they are much easyer to slap on the strap because of its point or Elliptical shape. Cant waint to buy more for a few more guitars I have kicking around. Five tumbs up on these buttons.
Can't beat the price well worth it for the gold and chrome used on these buttons.

I have come very close to dropping guitars when the strap "button hole" would become very pliable from years of slipping them on and off the buttons. One tug on the strap the wrong way and it could slip off and I don't move around much while playing. I have used other strap locks in the past but that makes it a "dedicated strap" that can't be used on any other guitar unless it is equipped with the same strap locks. I'm trying these on a Steinberger bass. I reused the screws already in the stock guitar buttons because they were longer than the ones supplied, and they fit through these quite well. So far it seems like a very well thought out yet simple solution. I may be getting another set for my other guitars in the future.

Larger than normal buttons. Got a couple sets of chrome for my Gibson Les Paul & my SG. The orig strap buttons that come on both of those guitars never have impressed me. Before I got these I'd gone back and forth with different buttons a few times,so the holes had to be filled in a bit to make sure the screws fit snugly. Since the strap comes behind the guitar, I turned the knobs slightly make the strap slot opposite the pointed button ends. I hate dropping nice guitars due to straps or buttons coming off...

This pins look nice, are of a very good quality, and they do what they say. If you're not a "wild child" flinging your axe around your neck, these do the job well without having to revert to clunky strap locks. Works perfect on the slippy Les Paul top pin. Try it, you like it.

These are great for strap retention short of mechanical "strap~locks" or "fork style" end pins, both which seem out of place on acoustic guitars, (at least to me). Best confidence is with good strap with thick, unworn/tight~fitting ends.
These end~pins are a subtle change and don't look like modifications, (if your a purist).
I am very cautious keeping guitars original but......... that does not extend to end pins and the risk of dropping an expensive guitar. That is a risk I would like keeping to a minimum.
